Ahhhh - Herman's Head. Good show. I wish I could find a way to watch it. It seems like it has almost been erased from history (the way it hasn't been shown much at all over the last 20 years).
I'm sorry, what was the topic of this thread again??

I remember a few old Calvin and Hobbes strips with a similar premise. I think I watched a cartoon as a kid which was not dissimilar, though don't ask me what the hell it was.
Edit: I wonder if the show I'm remembering is the one everyone is talking about?

It only ran for 3 seasons. No syndication because of that.

Huh. I remember Bruce Timm saying that once they hit the 52 episode mark of Batman Beyond, it was eligible for syndication and they didn't get a notice to make any more.

Yeah... I have no idea where anybody got 52 episodes for syndication, maybe something special for animation or childrens programming (which traditionally needed fewer episodes, since we all know kids rewatch everything a billion times.)

Got a chance to see this at a screening with Director Pete Docter and Producer Jonas Rivera in attendance. Pixar's got another huge hit coming your way. This movie will fuck with your emotions. I don't think I've heard so many people laughing and crying at a movie as much as I've heard at this one. Three huge rounds of applause at the end, once after the movie ends, once after some hilarious end credit scenes, and again after the lights came up. I'm highly recommending this one! I can't see anything beating for best animated picture this year.

hrmmm. I guess the reviews will attract me cuz the trailers haven't. I don't care for the concept but if it's good, I want to see it.

i'm surprised there's so few reviews so far
(but wouldn't be surprised if it did Wall-e type numbers once reviews floodgates open)

I saw it last night as part of the Inside Out All Access pass...
I really enjoyed this Pixar film, it was funny and very touching. I started to get teary eyed at not just the ending but other scenes as well. Everyone is perfectly cast in this movie and it doesn't seem to bog itself down with tangents. It's also funny to see which emotion actually drives us the most.
Before the movie, we saw a short Pixar studio tour piece and saw tiny glimpses of Finding Dory & The Good Dinosaur. Nothing for Toy Story 4. There was also a beautiful short film, as is the usual now for Pixar, called Lava. A tribute to Hawaii and Hawaiian music.
After the movie was a "live" Q&A with Amy Poehler and Pete Doctor from Australia. I say live with quotes because the theaters who did it right, had it sync'd properly so folks could send in their questions through Twitter. A lot of US theaters had issues and well, it was almost ten minutes before that appeared on screen.
As a gift for the premium screening, I got a lanyard to keep and an embossed mini poster. The card attached to the lanyard had a DMR code that unlocks the studio tour feature online (through DMR only & expires in September ) and 50 points.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with what she said, there really is no other way to interpret that.
That 1 negative review is angry the movie didn't require a PhD is psychoanalytical studies to understand.

The INSIDE/OUT trailer reminded me mostly of an earlier film that went inside someone's head:

There are, of course, exceptions to every rule, but generally you need 4 seasons or 88-100 episodes to qualify for syndication.
Syndication rights for Star Trek were actually purchased during the first season, and the cult status it had caused it to get aired even though it didn't have the traditional number of episodes required for syndication (Though it does have 79, which is on the high side for only 3 seasons worth of shows).
It actually found a bigger audience in syndication than it did on NBC. It was a lightning in a bottle thing that would be difficult to replicate.
For every Star Trek though, there are hundreds of other shows that ran a few seasons and were rarely seen again.

Re: Pixar's Inside Out (6/19/2015)
I saw this last night and had a rather "MEH" reaction to it. It's a good movie, but it's not a great one, and I didn't love it the way I've loved prior PIXAR efforts like the three TOY STORY movies, FINDING NEMO, or THE INCREDIBLES.
The animation is great, of course, but I don't think the story is as engaging, emotional or moving as most of the critics out there are leading the public to believe. Not that it's a sign of quality, but most of the younger kids at my screening seemed totally uninterested in the film...talking, going up and down the aisles, etc. - usually a bad sign for a "kid's movie." While I'm sure it will be fine this weekend, it will be interesting to see if INSIDE OUT has any legs at the box office, because I don't think children are going to be begging mom and dad to see it again.
I'd give it a solid 3 1/2 out of 5 stars, or a B+, but not any better than that. I hate to say it, but I found JURASSIC WORLD to be MUCH more entertaining, even with all its flaws.
