You also have to remember that older films have way less reviews collected than newer ones on RT. RT is pretty much worthless for most films that came out before 1990

Gator & American Ninja only have 5 reviews each.

Re: Movies you like that no one else seems to

Many of these have already been mentioned (which would seem to suggest they aren't hated as much as we might think) but here's my list:

Battlefield Earth (even though it's nothing like the book, we're still entertained by it)
Dune (1984, David Lynch)
Eragon (could have been so much better if given extra time to expand, but entertaining nonetheless)
The Fifth Element (over-the-top and entertaining as hell!)
Ghosts of Mars (say what you will about this movie, but we like it)
Green Lantern: Extended Cut (immensely entertaining to us)
Highlander 2 (the only thing we thought was ridiculous was when MacLeod suddenly screws Louise right there in the street, the rest of the movie was entertaining)
All 3 Jurassic Park movies (wish Tea Leoni would've gotten shredded by a raptor but otherwise entertaining)
All 3 Matrix movies (the sequels get a lot of shit here but I don't care, however I'll be FF'ing through the rave scene next time)
Planet of the Apes (2001, Tim Burton) (again, I don't care what anyone thinks, we like this movie. We don't try to compare it to anything, we just enjoy it)
Prometheus (another movie that gets a lot of shit here, but it was one of the only movies my wife actually raved about, we both like it)
Pulse (2006) (we thought this movie was creepy as hell, both of us enjoyed it.....the sequels not so much)
All the Resident Evil movies (although they should have wrapped it up WAY sooner)
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (weakest of the ST movies but we still liked it)
Star Trek: Nemesis (another one that gets a lot of shit here but we liked it)
All of the Star Wars movies (George Lucas didn't rape my childhood)
10,000 BC (we were definitely entertained by it)
Terminator 3 and Salvation (don't understand what all the hate is about but we liked them both)
Timeline (just as with Eragon, this could have been so much better if the suits hadn't chopped it, where's the footage they got rid of? We need a Director's Cut. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it)

That about wraps it up.

Speaking of which, I'd put the revised Star Wars movies on my list too. I've never been a huge Star Wars fan or anything other then always catching them on TV or VHS when I was little, so all the changes that fans complain about don't really bother me other then thinking some of the new effects stand out for the worse. I have the complete set on Blu-ray and enjoy it just fine, and probably wouldn't rebuy them if the unedited versions ever came out. To me, the differences aren't significant.

Greedo shooting first is irrelevant

I kind of liked the Clash of the Titans remake and sequel.

I could handle the changes until the latest round. The "Nooooooooo"s in ROTJ completely ruin the scene.

I could never handle "Jedi Rocks" or Greedo shooting first.

The remake isn't TOO bad. It's not particularly good, but it movies along with a nice bouncy pace and and Leterrier gives a nice sense of self-depreciation. The sequel, however, is totally worthless and one of the worst films I've ever seen.

I wouldn't say I love it or want to own it, but "Now You See Me" has entertained me twice now.

I don't know a single person who likes this movie. My brother in law thought it was Jackie Chan's worst movie.

I actually liked it. Shu Qi is freaking hot in this. But, I admit she has pretty much zero chemistry with Jackie.

I don't hate this one as much as others do either. It has a lot of problems but I don't think that it's nearly as bad as what most people make it out to be.

Star Trek: Nemesis (another one that gets a lot of shit here but we liked it)
I think the problem with this one is largely the fact that it was the last of the TNG films. I don't hate the film as much as a lot of people do, but I do think that crew deserved to go out on a higher note. It has it's moments though and despite the fact that it sort of rips off some elements of The Wrath of Khan I don't think it's really all that bad.

Terminator 3 and Salvation (don't understand what all the hate is about but we liked them both)
I personally feel like Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is the weakest entry in the franchise. I don't absolutely hate it but I think it's fairly weak and seemed to be trying to ride on the coattails of Terminator 2. As a brainless action film it isn't terrible but as a Terminator film I don't care for it.

Terminator Salvation on the other hand I find highly underrated. It seems like it gets a lot of shit for being different than the other entries, but it gave fans what they had been asking for which was to show more of the future war between man and machine. I think that if the sequels were made (since it was originally intended to be the start of a trilogy) that it might have gotten a bit more respect as time went on, but standing on it's own the film is sort of an oddity amongst the franchise.
