That first trailer was pretty good I thought. However the second one confirmed some of my fears about the film. The one note Canadian aboot shit was old before the script for this was even written.

As much as I dislike everything about this film I was't all out shitting on it because I'm a huge fan of Smith and realize he has to make a living. That all changed when he used the most iconic line from Clerks in the Yoga Hosers trailer. Fuck this movie.

Are like any of the known actors Canadian? I'm surprised he didn't just film this in Canada to begin with and save money...but then maybe depp and others are only in the movie due to it being filmed in LA.

- Look, if you want to make home movies with your friends and family that's fine. But if you're going to release them as feature films, at least respect viewers enough to try to make something that makes sense.
- Amateurishly shot, edited, acted and written, with elements of the production that seem unfinished, this Smith's worst film. Yes. Worse than Cop Out.
- Lazy writing, cheap effects, and tired gags pervade the film, and it's almost as if Kevin Smith is making a preemptive strike with its awfulness.

I liked this one from Rotten Tomatoes.
It's 21% fresh. Smith's movies are oddities. So I have to assume I'll like it and give it a try. If the critical reception is proportional to the audience's reception, I'll probably be the 1 in 5 who enjoy it.
His movies are so odd, that I can't help but enjoy the experience of watching. Jersey Girl was the closest he came to making a conventional movie. With declining reception of Smith's brand, if Mallrats were made today, people would shit all over it. You know, perception, man.

Kevin Smith stopped making half decent movies right after Clerks. He has made crap after crap. This looks like an attempt to get in the friend circle even more with Depp and try making his daughter famous. Piss off Kevin.
Update: after reading a couple of the reviews I had to check the trailer to see how bad it is. God lord that movie looks incredibly bad. Depp really is a waste of space these days. He sold out big time a long ago and seems to have taken the Eddie Murphy route where he only accepted roles that require him toe wear lots of prosthetics.
