Sure, I just think that aspect of Marvel movies is overblown. There are Marvel movies that don't have cameos, like Guardians or Doctor Strange, or just have small references that aren't detrimental to the movie or "required" to know what's happening in the universe. I imagine DC will be similar, where some movies might have references or cameos, and others won't.

I'd be for that over a Joker/HQ movie that was rumored. Thinking with the whole retconning post-JL, might be better to recast Joker even I actually liked Leto in the role.

I honestly didn’t think that highly of her performance. She’s fine but she in no way really owns the role or anything to me. Granted she’s the first live action portrayal in the first film starring the character but I don’t automatically think that makes her good in the role. She sort of just came off like trying too hard to be bad which I didn’t really buy. Part of that may have been the writing but I didn’t buy a lot of her performance. Also I didn’t like her accent.
Will Smith actually stood out to me more as Deadshot and I’m not even a big fan of him normally.

Yeah, but I just wasn’t a fan of the way she portrayed the character. More than anything I found her annoying and she didn’t really come off like crazy like Harley is supposed to be but more like she’s acting bad badly. Plus in an age where we’re supposed to be empowering women she’s shown in a pretty demeaning way. They try to make her come off strong but at the end of the day she falls easily to Joker’s wooing even though he treats her like crap. Granted that’s how the earlier version of the character was portrayed but it seems like we’re not supposed to think that of this version of the character.

I thought he worked for Deadshot pretty well. Not perfect but I found him more believable in the role. Margot Robbie seemed like the character everyone was supposed to love but I thought her performance was overrated by people who wanted to see Harley on screen. She’s fine but it’s not a really memorable performance or anything in my honest opinion.

I dunno, Robbie says it's a separate thing, but then goes on to essentially describe what the Sirens project would probably end up being.

DC Films Restructuring in the Wake of ‘Justice League’ Disappointment
It’s official: Warner Bros. sees Justice League as a disappointment. The film was intended to be the studio’s answer to Marvel’s The Avengers, but as a comparable superhero pic Justice League has been grossing far less at the box office than WB had hoped, and reviews have been unkind. As a result, Warner Bros. is changing things up at the executive level and considering a few other changes to help get the DCEU on track.
Variety reports that Jon Berg, who was installed to run DC Films alongside Geoff Johns in the wake of Batman v Superman’s disappointment in May 2016, will be leaving his current job and instead will become a production partner with Roy Lee (The LEGO Movie, IT). Apparently Berg approached the studio six months ago about the idea, stating he always ultimately wanted to just be a producer at the studio, not overseeing an entire division.
Johns is expected to continue serving as DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer, but his contributions to the films may evolve and “could be more advisory in nature” according to Variety. Warner Bros. Picture Group President Toby Emmerich is reportedly weighing the idea of shifting the DC Films structure altogether, integrating DC’s film operations into the studio’s main movie arm instead of keeping them in a separate building. This is how the superhero properties are developed and overseen at Fox and Sony, whereas Marvel Studios has its own independent office despite reporting to Disney.
This DC “overhaul” is expected to happen by January, and while there’s no guarantee the DC Films arm will be integrated, the fact that Emmerich is considering this as an option speaks to the degree to which WB is unhappy with its DC output so far. The higher-ups are said to be upset with the performance of Justice League, with Variety reporting that it alarmed studio executives early on when they saw Zack Snyder’s vision for the film. Reportedly Snyder’s vision for the villain Steppenwolf was recognized as “faulty” by studio executives, but only so much could be fixed during the reshoots overseen by Joss Whedon.
Variety says there are no immediate plans for Snyder to direct another DC movie, and the outlet notes that Time Warner—Warner Bros.’ parent company—“is said to be frustrated that Warner Bros. leaders continued to bring the director back.” So while Snyder maintains a production deal with the studio as he develops The Last Photograph, I wouldn’t necessarily expect him to return to the DCEU anytime soon. Although it should be pointed out that Batman v Superman hit theaters mere weeks before Justice League began filming, so it’s not like Warner Bros. re-hired Snyder after all the BvS backlash erupted—he was already deep into Justice League at that time.
As for the future of the DC films, Variety says it’s “highly unlikely” that Ben Affleck will return for director Matt Reeves’ The Batman, as the filmmaker is said to want to cast the role “with fresh talent,” according to sources. This has been rumored for some time now, and one imagines an official announcement regarding Affleck’s departure from the DCEU could be imminent—although Variety says the actor is still expected to appear as Batman in Flashpoint, which could be his “segue” out of the DC universe.
A lot is riding on next November’s Aquaman, which director James Wan already seems to be stressing as being in stark contrast to Justice League, and the director hunt continues for Flashpoint. Fan anticipation for Wonder Woman 2 is incredibly high, so there are some bright spots to be found, and it’ll be interesting to see how the studio adjusts in the New Year.

He essentially was removed and replaced by Joss Whedon, they just tried to make it sound nicer than it actually was because his kid had just died.

To me the move was sparked by studio meddling by either Tsujihara and/or Emmerich which would explain why Berg is leaving. Now only Geoff Johns will be the fall guy, but I can't see how he couldn't right this ship unless he has no power to do so.

All that would have been needed would be minor re-shoots and pick-up shots. Most of the film (from Snyder's footage) was completed.
They finished filming all the UK shots on October 6, 2016.
Snyder posted a video about it.
They completely wrapped principal photography in Iceland on October 15, 2016.
https://screenrant.com/justice-leagu...-done-iceland/
After that, it would have been post production for Snyder and minor re-shoots, pick-ups until his daughter died in Spring 2017.
The studio didn't remove him, most of his work was already done.

From articles that came out shortly after Justice League came out (and were posted in the Review thread if you hunt for them), it seemed like a LOT of scenes were Whedon's work. Much more then just some minor re-shoots.

Whedon wrote and directed new scenes, oversaw 2 months of reshoots and then post-production. Snyder did significantly more work. But, Whedon eventually produced the under 2 hour cut as mandated by WB.
One of the Producers of Justice League said Whedon's reshoots impacted roughly 15-20% of the film.

I'm guessing if Snyder never left the film, the reshoots would have had much less impact and would have been at most minor reshoots. That’s the point I was trying to get across. Also, we wouldn't have had CG mustache removal that apparently cost an arm and a leg.
But the studio ultimately made the call to make all these changes.

I think the studio wanted to change the film significantly, did so, and would have done so even had Snyder's daughter not died, that just gave them the out that they needed to replace him.
Even if only 15-20% of the film is from Whedon's reshoots (which I don't really believe based on some of the other comparisons I've heard from people who've seen both cuts) Whedon had a major impact on the film because it's his cut that appears in theaters, not Snyder's, and Whedon also replaced the entire score with a different composer.

Yup, there was indication and comments that Whedon was involved even before Snyder officially left too. I think it was clear Snyder was in the hot seat after BvS and the studio was concerned about Justice League even before he officially left the film because of his child.
