Bill Paxton gets a pass for his performances in Weird Science and Aliens alone.

Agreed.

He was cool in Nightcrawler, too.

Yeah. He was a great surprise in that one. That guy chews on whatever material you give him. He's never not on his A game. Hell...he was best thing in Agents of SHIELD S1 and I still think that show is mediocre but you can't deny Paxton his awesomeness. It takes a lot to not make him have a great time w/ a role.

No lie, one of the best TV productions I have seen in a long time. Kevin Costner played the rival.

If it means anything to you, Tarantino said that Hatfield/McCoys was one of his favorite recent TV shows.

Tarantino praised something shot digitally for TV? That's kind of surprising.

It was directed by Kevin Reynolds too, who made some fairly high-profile theatrical features back in the day, most notably Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and the infamous Waterworld.

So the ONE thing all DVDTalkers agree on is our love of Bill Paxton?

You have to remember this all started because somebody commented he didn't like Bill Paxton

Just caught this on bluray and thought it was great! The action, direction and pacing were spot on. I thought it was a nice touch how they'd reuse scenes, go away from them and then come back to them again towards the end.

I'd only criticise to say I'd have like more character moments, especially between Cruise and Blunt. I doubt there will be one, but I'd love a extended or directors cut, especially since I noticed no commentary tracks. I bet Liman and Cruise would be great to listen to on this one.

once they get that thing that they stab into Cage's leg and shit is going wrong... why didn't Cage just kill himself and repeat it again till they could get away scott free?
I thought he was still under the influence. I believe you can see this when he wakes up the next time.

I would accept that excuse if
Spoiler:
Cruise was only labeled as a deserter. However, he was also accused of impersonating an officer. Paxton's character would have to be living under a rock to not know that was complete bullshit made up by Gleeson's character.
