That was a great trailer, I'm much more excited for this than I was for TFA(which I ended up liking). I loved Godzilla, Edwards has a great visual eye, I hope the studio doesn't meddle too much.

I liked the new trailer but it didn't really feel any different than the previous ones. There's new footage but I'm not anymore hyped than I already was (which, admittedly is already pretty high).

Great looking trailer I hope the movie wildly succeeds despite Edwards's flaws and limitations as a director.

Turner (TNT/TBS) just spent $200M for the basic cable rights of 10 Star Wars movies including Rogue One and The Force Awakens. The Force Awakens is currently airing on Starz.
My question is, who nowadays watches a movie via an ad supported broadcast and edited for time? This isn't 1990. Probably the only ones who will watch these are bored channel surfers. I know I wouldn't watch an edited down version of The Force Awakens on TNT when the Blu-Ray is sitting in my Tv room.

I flat-out will not watch movies on commercial-supported networks. Edited for time, edited for content, commercial every ten minutes.
Sometimes I think these nets will pay out big bucks for stuff like this as a prestige thing. I remember A&E paid out over $100M for The Sopranos. I don't think any one watched it.

My wife will channel surf and stop on a movie... except we own it on Blu-ray. Seriously, just get up and put it in!

I'm a lazy surfer. I may not feel like pulling a movie out or have any intention of watching the whole thing but I'll certainly check it out until the commercial and then turn to something else.

I do channel surf when I get bored, and will watch ad supported movies if I feels like it.
I've seen the Fifth Element oh so many times.
$100m for the entire series is pretty decent, considering the viewer average of Mad Men and Breaking Bad for the first few seasons, and the fact each of those cost roughly $50m/season, I'm sure they did alright with Sopranos: Edited for TV.

Agreed. Bored channel surfers. Which seems to be what most basic cable is aimed at, anyway.

Michael Giacchino is replacing Alexandre Desplat as the film's composer. Delays brought about by the reshoots are cited as the reason behind this:

Giacchino
Djawadi
Desplat
in that order.
I'm more concerned on the pressure it will put on Giacchino to come up with a Star Wars-worthy score this late in the game.

Based on the article I read, it sounds like he had written the score, but because of the re-shoots, it's basically a different movie and the existing score didn't match up to the new scenes.
Because of scheduling conflicts, Desplat wasn't able to commit to rewriting most of the score.

It's funny, I was thinking how odd it looks to have Stormtroopers wading in shallow water on a tropical island.
