Re: The Cinefamily thread
The Cinefamily is doing a special member's only screening (premiere) on Wednesday at 10pm. It's a first come first serve type of event and Lord & Miller will be there in person to present it and hang out. I'm tempted, because We'd have to get there like 2-3 hours early to even try to get in. We'll see what happens.

Re: The Cinefamily thread
If it's an event you really really want to attend, 2-3 hours is nothing. You start talking movies with the people around you and time goes by pretty fast. I used to wait in line 12 hours for Hall H at Comic-Con. If you're not a social person, bring a book or play on your phone.
It's more than that. It's a logistical nightmare for me to get over there around that time for the fact that it's a first come first serve event. I'd have to leave right in the middle of rush hour traffic (L.A. rush hour traffic) to try to snag a spot in line.
Yeah, I don't wait for anyone 12 hours. I've been to Comic Con once and that was my first and last time.

Just having to fight rush would be enough to squash any anticipation. Especially since it's just 22 Jump Street.

Looks like Los Angeles IS getting the 40th Anniversary 4k version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre after all. Opening night will be moderated by William Friedkin and Tobe Hooper will be there in person. It's playing 3 nights in late July.

Worth mentioning that Quentin Tarantino has taken over programming for October at the New Beverly Cinema.
Just picked up tix for this weekend's 35mm double feature of Pulp Fiction and The Professional.
Some other fun screenings this month, capped off by an Eli Roth marathon on Halloween.
Calendar here:

Also have tix to the Cinespia showing of Beetlejuice at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery the week before Halloween.
