Oops, I thought this was coming out today. So 4-day weekend.
What X-Men comic is this movie based on?
I wonder if they'll get Olsen to do Scarlet Witch in the next X-Men movie.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past (Singer, 2014) — The Reviews Thread
Days of Future Past (the movie) is based upon Days of Future Past (the comic storyarc).
Seriously though, Days of Future Past is a comic storyarc from 1981 written by Chris Claremont. I forget the exact issue numbers, but I'm sure someone else will remember.
Edit: Nevermind, I googled it. It's Uncanny X-Men #141-142.

There actually seems to be more highly related comic book movies then you'd think. Dark Knight was 94, Avengers 92, Iron Man 93, Spider-Man 2 94, and some were really close or high like Spider-Man 89, Darkn Knight Rises 88, X-Men First Class 87, X2 87, Hellboy 2 87, Batman Begins 85.

This movie retcons Mystique in that she can copy people's powers, not just their physical appearance like before, and in the comics.
Which is stupid, because if she can do that, why wouldn't she just keep using powers of the most powerful mutants and be unstoppable?

Why does Galaxy get so many good sneaks? So many better theaters in town.

When will we get an explanation as to why Wolverine's bone claws can somehow turn into razor thin blades with adamantium?

New X-Men Film Features Bryan Singer Traveling Back In Time To Molest Younger Self
LOS ANGELES—Early reviews confirmed Thursday that X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the latest installment in the popular superhero film series, prominently features a storyline in which director Bryan Singer journeys through a portal in the space-time continuum to an earlier era, where he coerces his 16-year-old self into sexual intercourse. “Hey, I work in movies—you have any interest in Hollywood?” the director reportedly says in the film, caressing his teenage self’s shoulder in a scene preceded by a montage that includes Singer frantically searching for a coke dealer on the Lower East Side and attempting to contact older studio executives for a “wild party” later that night. “There’s going to be a little get-together in my hotel room at the Ritz later on. Tons of kids like you will be there, and a few showbiz bigwigs. Let me tell you, with a face like that, I can make big things happen for you. I really mean it.” Several reports indicated that the latter portion of the movie’s plotline focuses on Singer locked in a pulse-pounding race against time to prevent his adolescent self from filing sexual assault charges and destroying his career.

I just got back from this and it was pretty cool. I would rank this one in the top 3 of X-Men/Wolverine films.
And did I call it or did I call it?
I would still rank 'em like this:
First Class
Days of Future Past
The Wolverine
X2
X-Men
Last Stand
Wolverine Origins
The ending sort of irked me, because it was straight up fan service. Now the after credit scene was cool but you can tell it was an after thought, because the CGI of
Yes, I will still be getting the Blu-ray.

Fixed this for you...
And I'm sorry for all those who were so worried about Quicksilver in either his look or whatever, but he was one of the highlights of the film.
I have no clue what Joss has in store for his version of Quicksilver, but it's going to be hard to top the enjoyment I got out of his character here.

I rewatched First Class recently and all i could think about was how overrated it was. I could hardly sit through it all. Weak supporting cast, lame characters, and boring story.

You're not alone. It was incredibly lame, and I still can't fathom the choice of young mutants. They were all embarrassing.

Wait. The actual arc that this was based on was only two issues? Damn I was under the impression that it was long as hell.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past (Singer, 2014) — The Reviews Thread
I just found this picture of Wolverine from X-Men (2000) compared to Wolverine from the 2013 Wolverine movie. Most people get fatter as they age, but Jackman has gotten more and more buff. Crazy.
