Is Mystique's role bigger than both Xavier's and both Magneto's? or are they just capitalizing on Jennifer Lawrence's popularity. I hope her role isn't bigger than theirs.

I saw someone comment this on another site, but i'm surprised they haven't made a movie poster using the iconic comic book cover.

Until I see the movie I guess I will say that I like the poster. Even with nitpicky flaws.

Completely different plot and there won't be an old Wolverine with there? But it could've and should've been done.

I honestly won't be surprised if that happens though as Fox did that for The Wolverine with the Extended Cut.

Like I said above, I don't see how the differences in plot matter. Wolverine, check. Kitty Pryde, check. Sentinels killing mutants, check. Just saying something inspired by it would have been cool

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past (Singer, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

Well an important point in the image is that the woman next to old wolverine is an adult Kitty Pryde. Who was a very important aspect to the plot.

If we did get an Old Wolverine in front of a poster of dead/captured mutants. It would be neat but also it'd just be a poster of wolverine. The cooler aspect of the comic image to me, narratively, is that why is he protecting an adult woman we don't know yet and from who? We aren't getting an adult Pryde. The film focus is Logan again (....yay).

Saying that...I'm not digging the poster art for this film.

You're thinking about it way harder then I did. It's just a movie poster.

Really? The fact that Kiddy Pryde isn't an adult in the new movie (and by not an adult, you mean not in her 40's. Ellen Page is 27, which is pretty adult.) is reason enough not to use one of the most iconic comic covers of all time as poster inspiration? If 40 year old Kitty Pryde is the coolest part of that cover, then you and I have different ideas about what is cool. Besides, as far as I can tell, Kitty is still the one who sends him back to the past, so it makes just as much sense as the comic in that regard.

I'm not saying they should have used it as the main poster (which does kind of suck, but then so do most of the X-men series posters), but I'm surprised Fox didn't use the concept at all in their marketing. Even if it was just a Comic-Con exclusive sort of thing.
