Ten Commandments...A huge part of enjoying it has to do with watching the Hammy 50's style of acting/over acting. But it is still a good film spectacle from different age of Hollywood.
Prince of Egypt...just a good animated film all around and better acted than the Ten Commandments.

Re: Biblical Epics
I watch The Ten Commandments & Ben Hur during Holy Week (That's Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday for those of you in Rio Linda!)
I In the case of the former I always time my DVD to start the exact time ABC's version starts (My version ends roughly 1 1/2 hours before the Networks. If you are watching the network's version guess what you are spending at least 90 Minutes doing?

Yes both movies have their inaccuracies, (For example the "Galley Scene", Ben Hur would NOT be on a Military Ship (Enlisted Men would be manning the Oars while Officers would be on deck. (Can you imaging 30 or so Officers fighting an Enemy while 1-80 to 200 Men just stay there and do nothing?)
As soon as they rammed an Enemy the enlisted men would get off their seats, grab a sword and a shield and get ready to RUUUUUUUUUUUble!
nonetheless I consider them my all-time favorites.
PS if the ship was a COMMERCIAL Vessel slaves and convicts would be manning the oars.

Some good titles mentioned here. A quick second to mention one that hasn't appeared yet:
One I'll toss out is The Gospel According to Matthew. A production company doing "The Visual Bible" tell the entirety of Matthew word-for-word, verse-by-verse (NIV translation), with the actual chapter-and-verse appearing in the corner of the picture. You can't get much closer to the text than that! The actor who portrays Jesus is Bruce Marchiano and it's probably my favorite Jesus on film. He really dives into the human side of Jesus, with lots of laughter and some tears. In some ways, it's jarring to see a Jesus joke around or smile so much and t I think it's great. By the time Good Friday rolls around, you really feel for this him.
The production value is what it is. In spite of that, however, I think Marchiano's portrayal is just plain excellent.

Re: Biblical Epics
The Last Temptation of Christ is absolutely brilliant.
Ben-Hur has such an outdated "shock and awe" vision of Jesus that it just comes off as comical to me. It would be a much better film if you took Jesus out of it.
