no but seriously I like devilshalo's recommedation/questioning why there hasn't been a Jonny Quest movie.
There is a script out there and I skimmed it: Hadji doesn't meet even meet Dr. Quest until the last scene, it was like an extreme origin story. Someone once speculated that a movie wasn't made due to the tone (not that script in particular but of the idea itself), considering that The Venture Brothers was the same idea but comedic, so at that time a Johnny Quest movie might look like a joke, kind of like if they did a serious Hardy Boys movie now (not the speculated Ben Stiller comedy). But the time seems good now for a Quest movie, especially if they keep it in the 60's.

I think Robotech would be the best property to adapt to a live action film. I would say Voltron but I'm pretty sure that much of what makes it unique would be sacrificed to make it modern or "realistic." I thought the Transformer films were okay but I was pretty disappointed that all the transformers looked the same, like shredded metal put back together.

And the Masters of the Universe film was pretty good. It's too bad it couldn't haven taken place completely in Eternia, but considering the budget I thought they did a great job. Skeletor, Evil-Lyn and He-Man were pretty well cast.

Another vote for Dungeons and Dragons. Could easily turn into a franchise, and make superstars out of a teenage cast.

I think in the hands of the right director, a Jonny Quest movie would rock. While it would never happen, it would be cool if Quentin Tarantino did it, given his penchant for old cartoons and such. But he wouldn't be able to use the F-bomb as I am sure they would want kids to see it.

I'm honestly surprised that there hasn't been another attempt at a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe film. The original film is fun in a cheesy nostalgia sort of way, but I think it could be revived and probably be done a lot better if a new version was made.

I also agree about Johnny Quest. I was never the biggest fan of the series but it seems like it would be fairly easy to adapt to live action.

I'm as big a Voltron fan as anyone, but what makes Voltron unique exactly? The characters were pretty cookie cutter/super sentai/gatchaman-like, and the combining robot thing has been done a ton. In fact, in many ways it's basically an animated Super Sentai/Power Rangers show in space.

This thread reminded me:

Whatever happened with the HONG KONG PHOOEY movie? They released some test footage and then - poof - I never heard anything more about it.

There are 3 (Battle of the Planets has a Japanese movie coming out i believe....so scratch that off the list.....only for the moment).

1. Thundercats
2. Dungeons and Dragons (a proper version using the carton as a basis...it would be fantastic)
3. Centurions (POWER EXTREME!!!!).....this i think is the easiest translation and could prove to be pretty successful at the moment.
