Why So Blu?

Just saw the trailer and I was all like hey this has a "Turistas" vibe and wouldn't you know John Stockwell (Turistas) directed it. The only thing I'm not feeling is the shots that go from cinematic into found footage to almost video. I'm not exactly sure what's going on there but it does have a documentary feel to it.

I'm surprised Carano isn't a bit bigger, her blend of genuine action skill with sex appeal is a rare combination. Maybe she's just in the wrong era, she'd have been on the cover of every VHS tape back in the DTV Jeff Pruit days in the 90 s.

It's actually amazing that both aren't big as fuck. Adkins with a nice period of quality action and Carano is... Carano.

Carano would have been a good look for WW. Carano is the special effect which is always exciting for action. Is our culture now kind of unaccepting of someone like Carano for the genre?

I'd love it if she became an action star.

Adkins was in the legend of hercules, so he technically does stuff beyond dtv action flicks

I think the biggest problem that Carano has is there isn't really a demand for a female action hero. Try and think of the last non Resident Evil movie that starred a bad ass female protagonist(not counting Haywire). You'd probably have to go all the way back to Salt.

As for Adkins, the thing that really holds him back are there just doesn't seem to be a demand for movies like that anymore. The Stallone and Arnold movies have been replaced by superheroes and Transformers. The only person who is somewhat carrying the torch is Statham, and even he hasn't had a hit movie since Transporter 3.
