Re: Locke (4/18/14) D: Knight S: Tom Hardy
Saw this today. Really really stressful seeing a guy having to attempt to fix his fuckup but still trying to finish what he started.
Hardy was awesome. The guy keeps getting better and better. I really liked it. I'll get it on BD.
Felt kind of sad for Locke in the end. Like I know he fucked up and I'm ok in accepting him doing so but I gotta give props to the guy for trying to keep his shit together even when it is crumbling.
EDIT: The one thing that I kept wondering through this is to how the insurance worked on this film. Cuz he's in the damn car the whole time. That was probably an interesting insurance coverage they had for this one.

It's obvious if you look to the side to see the height level in some shots, yeah. But as a whole I wondered what kind of insurance there is in place for this film. Cuz you're like in the streets the whole time.

Watched it last wk, I enjoyed it as well. It's a nice change of pace movie when you're in the mood for something different. I'm a bigger fan of Hardy with each new movie I see him in. Wouldn't have minded a little more resolution at the end, but it doesn't overstay it's welcome.

Recently saw Locke for the first time. Incredible film. Prior to seeing this, I would never have thought a movie about a guy driving in a car & having numerous conversations on a cellphone would be that interesting.
However, this movie was amazing - Tom Hardy was great as the guy who was going through numerous personal & professional crises (and fighting a cold on top of this) and still never really losing his cool. You really felt sorry for him by by the end of the film, and wanted things to work out for him.
I also found out more about mixing cement/concrete from this film than I would have thought possible - LOL.

I need to revisit this movie. I remember finding it fine, but certainly flawed. The one thing i do remember is that horrible Welsh accent that Hardy does. Why not just use his normal accent? Having him be welsh adds NOTHING to the story, and just ends up being distracting.
