Yeah exactly. While we get a glimpse of Spidey's overall look it's not the best scene to base how good the fine details look. Plus I'm sure there's some touch up work to be done before the film is out.

I wouldn't say he looks like shit, but certainly doesn't look good to me. Especially given that it's the first reveal of the new Spider-Man. I don't see how it's bitching just for sharing an opinion

Same here. Not bitching, just think he looks out of place in the two-second clip.

Couldn't agree more. As much as Robert Downey Jr. has embodied Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Evans has also nailed his performance as Steve Rogers/Captain America. He comes across as genuine in a role that could have easily come across as hokey; he really sells the morality of the character.

I was down on him because he was Johnny Storm, and was actually one of the few highlights of those films.
Love the casting of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Bruce Banner. The rest, are all, OK, even Sam L.

I think most of the casting for the main MCU heroes has been good really. As much as I like him Ruffalo is probably the one I could see being easy to replace as he hasn't made many appearances and I actually liked Norton a bit better as Banner. A lot of the villains are more easily replaceable too.

I liked Spader as Ultron but it has to do more w/ how they did Ultron by the page over Spader himself. Everyone else is rather meh.
I will admit that Stane was great when he wasn't in the suit. He had presence. Just not a lot to do at the end.

Evans was cool in The Losers. Fuck, I really like that movie. The Blu-ray looks and sounds great.

Spidey at first does look pretty bland, but that close up that somebody posted shows there is a shit-ton of detail put into the CGI. I think it looks bad in the clip because he appears to just be red and blue ... You cannot really see any black lines on the costume or shadows to help define and delineate, hence it looks "blobbish."

Only villains that seemed to be well done by their actors are Skull and Loki.

I forgot about Buck. Really cool that he was full on Terminator in kicking ass. Usually in these types of budgeted movies a role like that would be dull as hell. Luckily.. this one wasn't.
Kingsley was fucking great. I'm not all that keen on where they went w/ it but I loved him in it. I'd love it if they built on what AHTK teased. Cuz it was a fucking good tease.
I liked Stane a lot. He just.. felt really realized in that environment he was in for us. Just was rushed and chiched up more than he needed to be at the end. The rush of it all really affects what impact or memorability he may have had on us in the long run.

I hope that eventually when Marvel gets to Norman Osborn that they nail him just as good as the Dafoe version and don't kill him off. Spidey should add some good villains to the mix as he has some of the more memorable ones aside from character like Doom and Magneto who they can't use.

I enjoy Evans as well, but the one negative comment I have is that he doesn't quite seem to command the respect that Cap demands. In the comics, characters are literally in awe of him just by being in his presence. They might question him behind his back, but once they actually meet him and are face to face, they can't help but defer to his awesomeness. Evans doesn't carry that same sort of weight.

Add in that his presence in the films, modern world, is a good deal different than the comics... sliding timeline or not. When Cap came back in the comics. It had only been 20 years or whatever. WW2 was still young in the memory of the culture. And they introduced him into the world as a revered icon.
In the films? it's been almost 70 years. A huge gap. Add in that the Super hero culture in that world doesn't really kick off till IM comes in. Cap comes back... and all these people may sort of know about him but they've no cultural context for him in their time.
Evans plays him great. He comes off the same way he does in the comics. But around that, his impact on culture is different in how the modern world has to take him in and how it uses him as well. Just very different cultural mindsets that both formats use based on their own context of time, literal in so many ways.

All that clip reminds me of is how bad his avengers 1 costume was. Jesus. Let's talk about that for a few pages.
