Re: The Wilhelm scream

I've never heard it before, so I'm indifferent.

Re: The Wilhelm scream

Works only as a joke now. If it's played as serious or part of a non-joke scene, I completely hate it.

Re: The Wilhelm scream

I noticed it as a little kid in both Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark and when I saw Ben Burtt did the sound design on both I put two and two together. I really want to say I read something about it being in several movies by the time I was in middle school, especially around the time it was in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

It's used in all three LOTR movies. And it seems it will be used in all three Hobbit movies.

This one is played out, especially in the Politics forum.

Or, in the case of Star Trek, 47.

Sounds more like "Man stepping on Lego brick" than "Man being eaten by alligator."

Nice find, Dan. Still hate that scream.

However, I did like this one use of it:

Re: The Wilhelm scream

Interesting. I honestly thought the original was Howie Long in Broken Arrow. I forget where I heard that but always took it as fact.

Re: The Wilhelm scream

I'd swear I heard it (in part at least, possibly augmented with a new element) in John Wick 4.
