Eh, I don't think it looks that bad. It seems to be capuring the relationship between Brock and the symbiote pretty well.

But yes, the accent is weird. And sim-bye-oat is weird. And super weird to have a venom origin story without spiderman (I'm assuming). Brock and the symbiote's hatred of Spidey is a key component of their bonding. Well, THE key component.

Cool stuff? Looks like pretty standard Hollywood dropping the ball on a beloved comic character bullsh#t to me. Doesn't look to me that they even tried on this one, they just wanted the namesake and made something totally unlike the property.

In a way the trailer to me looks like something that would have come out like pre-MCU era or something. It doesn’t seem like it’s got the same polish as modern films in the genre. I don’t think it looks terrible like I said before but it looks very mixed. It’s got a very generic feel to it. I think Venom looks okay so far but when Eddie gets transformed at the end it looks pretty corny. I’m still probably going to give it a chance but it’s definitely not something I’m overly excited to see.
