Wtf? Just watched the new one a couple days ago. I always liked him. Seemed down to earth. Now hope he's in heaven.

RIP PW

I love the moronic YouTube posters lambasting the guy who uploaded the video saying that they could have saved him.

I think it's safe to say he died on impact.

And then again it could have been something as simple as a blown tire. Who know we are so quick to assume the worst.

Blown tire or not, look at the debris all over the road. Look at the condition of the car. The driver had to have been going a hell of a lot faster than he should have for a city street.

Maybe he was trying to recreate the feeling I have when I read one of the threads you start.

Exactly. There's no way safe and responsible driving would have resulted in the crash site looking the way it does.

If you're taking a vehicle like that on city streets for a ride it's not to show off how fast it can get from 0-35.

A few people seem to be confusing professional/semiprofessional with "immune to death".

I agree 100% there's no doubt they were speeding. Thank God all of us always obey every posted speed limit.

Maybe James Wan will have no choice but to go back to horror.

I don't always go the speed limit, but neither do I drive so fast that my car disentagrates. While I don't claim to be correct since none of us know for certain what happened yet, I'm willing to bet it will come out that they were going significantly faster than than what would be considered "safe" speeding.

Re: Paul Walker has died.

I agree but that kinda damage could easily happen at 65 mph lets say the speed limit is 45 who hasn't done that? Those cars aren't built to sustain much damage. It looks like the curb they ran over probably cracked the has tank and fuel line that caused the engine to go ablaze. Those cars are built super low to the ground.

R.I.P. Paul Walker. Thanks for your contributing efforts in great white shark research. You seemed like a pretty stand up guy and entertained everyone with some fun films.

He didn't seem to be some hollywood douchebag. Plus Fast 5 & 6 were HUGE. I doubt the reaction would be the same had this happened after 4. Also, there is a lack of any other news event at the moment.

Probably. This car was going 162mph when it crashed into a pole. The occupants walked away from the scene with minor injuries.

Re: Paul Walker has died.

Wow, ironic and sad. I watched the first F&F on Friday night for the first time (bought the Blu Ray set from Amazon UK super cheap recently). Thought it was a goofy movie - tons of great one-liners - with all the good word of mouth about Fast 6, and how the series supposedly gets better as it goes I was looking forward to getting into the series.

The pictures of the car and tree, sick. It looks as tho the tree impacted Paul's side of the car the most, no doubt he died instantly. Also, the fact that the car burst into flames, the car had to be easily traveling over 100 mph. The driver, no matter how experienced, should have known better. That Porsche is basically a race car, keep that speed for showing off on a race track, not a public street. Thank God they didn't crash into innocent people.

There is absolutely no excuse for this accident. I hope people in the future don't gloss over the fact that this accident more than likely could have been avoided. A vehicle of this caliber and it's speed that it can achieve should only be pushed on a race track, with it's occupants wearing helmets.

I have a pretty fast car and I get challenged all the time at red lights... people that engage in "street racing" are idiots. I'm not saying that Paul and his buddy were racing, but they were definitely going faster than they should have been going. Hopefully this might encourage a serious effort on the part of the producers of the Fast & Furious to encourage and promote people to take their need for speed to race tracks that are professionally managed.

RIP Paul and his friend.

Well, I'm assuming that car is bone stock. Anyone who owns a limited exotic always keeps in mind it's resale value so their not going to screw with the specs when it comes to resale. This car comes equipped with Michelin run flat tires. Unless they changed the tire out for performance reasons these specific tires cannot have a blow out and they retain their sidewall integrity up to 50 mph. If their going above 50...well that's another story. I own runflat tires and you cannot tell by just looking at them that their flat unless the pressure monitoring system inside your car tells you.

If someone reduces a Porsche to a twisted hunk of burnt metal, it's not a stretch to assume that the driver was doing something ill-advised.

The carbon fiber chassis of the Enzo and Carrera GT was made by the same company called ATR.

More info on the driver.

I just looked up his name in the corporate directory, and he was still with Merrill. I also read the sheriff said donuts in a figure 8 were found close to the accident.
