07. S: Prolific director Woody Allen is probably most well-known for Annie Hall. Name another famous Woody Allen film. (submitted by mrcellophane)

Is it more disgraceful to admit I've never seen Bill & Ted, or to admit I blew a question on a movie I have seen? I assume it's the former, but I'll admit to it anyway.

Louise Brooks was great, but not very well known today.

I am shocked by the number of people who couldn't answer the question. Even if you've never seen a silent movie, you should have at least heard of Pickford, Garbo, Gish or Bow.

Never heard of any of them. I don't really know much of anything about movies from before the 70s. The number of movies from before the 70s I have seen can be counted on one hand.

I think i've only heard of Garbo. Even then, hearing the name before is different from being able to come up with it for a question

Plus, you can think of "old actresses," but were they necessarily silent? I wouldn't have thought of Garbo that way. Then again, I've only seen her in Grand Hotel and equate her with Bette Davis just because of their Warner boxed sets.

Well, this is a surprise!!! Still kicking myself that I forgot to slam dunk that question.

One of the cool things about this sorta "free-for-all" game is that I am adding some answers to my "to watch" list. Lot of cinema out there with which I'm not familiar (Middle Eastern, several silent actresses, etc.).

OK, but for the record, Garbo was a huge star in both the 20s and the 30s.

Yeah, I'm eager to check out ME productions such as The Mummy, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

See, I'm fairly versed in the '30s but not the '20s. I freely admit this is a gap in my cultural knowledge.
