I agree. Especially considering that this film is supposed to focus on an older Batman. He's already established in this universe so I don't see the point to showing part of his origin again or why that's really relevant to this story. Especially considering that his origin has been done enough times already and even a lot of casuals are familiar with.

Could be for a quick angst-ridden flashback, lasting a few seconds. Not needed, but I doubt it'll be a long scene.

They could change the Wayne parents deaths from being murdered to being killed in a tornado.

Looks like they shot that scene already. Don't know how fanboys will feel about the changes.

Anybody else still think Superman won't have much more than a fucking cameo in this?

Or maybe like The Incredible Hulk where they flashed through the origin in the opening vignette.

Stopped by the set tonight on my way home from work, it was pretty cool the train stop right there was changed to a Gotham Transit Authority stop, they even had they maps changed out, there were old timey cars and taxis out front of the theater, by the time they were getting ready to film they had cleared the sidewalks, so I didn't see any interesting filming.

If there was ever a comic book character with a 5-minute origin its Batman. The origin story was never even told in the DCAU and it worked because its part of our cultural DNA, and Batman '66 and the Burton/Schumacher films never spent more than a few minutes on it either. And I've always felt that its largely unnecessary to show him undergoing ninja training or studying under various mentors. That's stuff you resort to when you're trying to fill multiple monthly comics but when you have 2 hours every few years it comes across as tedious.
Dude likes punching bad guys because a bad guy killed his parents. Not exactly deep psychology that warrants a lot of screen time.

Bob Kane and Bill Finger originally wrote Batman's origin in one page. The modern day origin in the New 52 is 11 entire issues long.

Yeah I've been watching the Blu-ray set and Bruce actually mentions it in the first episode. Just a line of dialogue and he doesn't go too in depth about it but their deaths are mentioned.

^ Wasn't she that worthless reporter character in Mass Effect 3?
EDIT: Did she read the title as "Dawn of Justin"?
