The ruling was already made ... SL is a B&W movie, for the purposes of this game.

Re: Two Bleats Up: The Roger Ebert Memorial Sheep Game

I would count Schindler's List a B&W film since more than 90% of it is in B&W.

A more arguable example would be Rattle & Hum, where maybe 1/3 or 1/4 is in color. (Although it's too old to qualify for this case, of course.)

Now our uniques:

Spoiler:

Nadja (vampire movie)
brainee -1

Control
sauce07 -1

Pi
Tarantino -1

Celebrity
Groucho -1

Ed Wood
TBC -1

American History X
bootsy -1

Cowards Bend The Knee
Howie2000 -1

Nice to see Guy get a mention. I was going to mark this wrong, saying it was an installation, not a theatrical movie, but luckily, I looked on line and saw the films were put together and released theatrically, so I saved myself the embarrassment.

Lost on the Bohemian Road
wishbone -1

Running Time
Super X -1

Persepolis
Obi-Wan Jabroni -1

In case anyone wants to make an objection, the colour sections in Persepolis account for probably less than 2 minutes of screen time, so it is acceptable, as most reasonable people would consider it a black and white movie.

No Sin City either? Although surely that would have been debated.

Ok, I really have to start my commute home now. Sucks I won't be here for the end, but I'm pretty sure I can't make up enough ground on this one to catch the leader. I'l catch up in a couple of hours.

No Following or Schindler's List? And yet The White Ribbon gets 3 votes? These reverse questions drive me crazy sometimes.

Sin City is debatable. I would wager that >50% of the frames have color in them.

I considered The General (1998) but that was released in color in some countries and I wasn't prepared to lawyer up for a challenge.

Since the boiler plate rules I cut and pasted to the start of the game don't say anything on the subject, it seem only fair to give Fist of Doom -12 for double slamming The Artist

My answer for the crying question is the only thing that has ever made me audibly cry, like bawling.

I'm out of here too. I'd expect the picks for the last question to be all over the board, so not a lot of movement in the standings.

And lastly, we all reveal a bit about ourselves...

S:24 -Ebert said that he rarely cried at movies, but cried both times he saw ANTWONE FISHER. Which movie brought YOU to tears?

I thought Wreckmeister Harmonies would end up as the obscure b&w film a couple people randomly end up picking on that last question.

My real "saddest movies ever" probably wouldn't get many votes. So I tried to be a sheep.

I just realized what the most sheepy answer is to this.

I think I just may get passed up here.

Re: Two Bleats Up: The Roger Ebert Memorial Sheep Game

I was hurrying to finish up my answers and an obvious sheep answer wasn't coming to me, so I actually put the name of the one movie my step dad said made him cry. It's kind of a joke answer, but I just didn't think there would be much common ground on this one.

Re: Two Bleats Up: The Roger Ebert Memorial Sheep Game

i can't think of a lot of times I have cried while watching movies, my choice was one i think made me tear up at the time, but i don't think i cried.

I'm sure the most recent movie that made me cry (and only one i can really remember) will not make the list.

When i told my wife I cried during it, she looked at me like had just played a {sd} on an answer that no one had ever heard of.

Interesting to see the movies that brought us all to tears. For the record, my answer would have been AI, which is so emotionally draining I don’t think I could ever watch it again.

Re: Two Bleats Up: The Roger Ebert Memorial Sheep Game

Speaking of Herzog movies, the scene in Encounters at the End of the World with the deranged penguin wandering to his death into the mountains rather than moving towards the water is probably the scene that affected me more than any other I've ever seen. Sometimes I'll just start to think about it and my eyes will well up. Of course knowing Herzog, it was probably all made up.
