Well, there is numerous appearance on HK-TVB programming. The footage may or not have been destroyed. The show Enjoy Yourself Tonight, which was like HK's Tonight Show has footage from shows which Bruce Lee appeared on YouTube, strangely the Bruce Lee segments have yet to appear.

Oh, I'm sure some enterprising producers will decide that the "sensational behind-the-scenes drama you never knew" behind those otherwise ordinary interviews will make for a thrilling big screen adaptation/recreation, with lots of kung-fu fights erupting in the TVB studios because why not?

It was a joke, dude. Well, partially, anyway . . .
Emphasizing "ordinary" in my earlier post is kinda pointless, since I was only referring to the long-established ability of HK filmmakers to take something ordinary, even borderline extraordinary -- like a standard two- or three-camera TV interview with sofa discussion and martial arts demonstrations -- and re-shape it into something kind of crass and overblown and generally unrecognizable from reality, like the mountain of clone movies in the 70's and 80's. Of course, with Nolfi's film, we see that an American is just as capable.

Re: Birth of the Dragon
So I saw this last night.
I would probably give this a C
The stuff with Bruce Lee and Wong Jack Man was pretty good. Phillip Ng looks nothing like Bruce, but his portrayal of him was actually quite good.
Some decent martial arts directing by Corey Yuen.
On the flip side, Bruce Lee is not the focal point of the movie. As mentioned in Stuckman's review earlier in this thread, the movie focuses mostly on some fictional white character named "Steve" Everything that had to do with him was boring and uninteresting. His character is supposedly one of Bruce's students and he ends up meeting Wong Jack Man as well. He sort of helps orchestrate their big fight. Steve's plot also involves him meeting a Chinese girl who works in restaurant. (and is considered one of those immigrant slaves working to pay back debt) He falls for her and tries his best to get her free from her "captivity" This plot is like 70% of the movie.
It sounds to me that they didn't have enough story to carry the Bruce/Wong Jack Man big fight, so they had to create this "Steve" plot as filler to help fill the 95 minutes.
Even if you're a hardcore Bruce Lee fan, I don't really recommend this.

Re: Birth of the Dragon
I don't think Dan and Bruce where friends yet at this time. They met at the Long Beach exhibition of that same year through Ed Parker but that was about it. But yeah...saw this last week. What a piece of shit.

Geez, you're so generous. Only a 1/10 for a few decent fight scenes.
