I can't give you my review. I will say that I'm seeing it tomorrow night again.
I can give you my bud's spoilerr free review if you want. Here's the opening paragraph and the link to the rest if you wish to read more.
When The Raid: Redemption hit theaters in America back in 2011, I was ecstatic over what it gave me. Having looked forward to it for months, I felt like I was rewarded with a film that was one of the more visceral experiences I have ever had in a theater, complete with a great audience to experience it with. It presented a ton of action, which included various fights, choreography, and filmmaking that I frankly had not seen presented in that manner before. The story is not all that innovative, but it was immensely satisfying for me as far as what it was trying to do. It was enough to earn a spot on my top 10 list that year. Now we have the Raid 2: Berandal, which attempts to extend that visceral experience into something much grander, given the blown out nature of the plot, expansion of characters, and general chaotic feel of the action on display. The result was another bloody good time at the theater.

Wow, for some reason I thought The Raid 2 opened in limited release as opposed to just 7 theaters:
As far as significant limited releases, Gareth Evans' martial arts action sequel The Raid 2 (Sony Pictures Classics) opened in seven theaters in select cities where it grossed $177 thousand or roughly $25 thousand per site.

Sweet. It looks like at least two of the theaters in my area that were posted on that photos a few pages back, put up their showtimes for this Friday!
Waiting on a friend to see if she can make it out, if not I'll probably get my tickets soon.

Saw it at an art house the other night, haven't seen the poster at my multiplex yet. Maybe it'll take a little longer to go wider.

"Sony Classics will open The Raid 2 on Friday [March 28] in seven theaters in its initial weekend. It will head into about 30 theaters in five or six cities [April 4] before heading wide into 1,200 locations the following week[April 11]."
Those are all USA, I think, though I'm not sure.
Wide release in Canada is the same date. I'll be seeing it on the 9th.

It's playing in two theaters near me but I don't have time to see it until Saturday...ARGH. On the positive side, I'm seeing Kraftwerk this week, as are a few of the people in this thread.

Per wiki the budget was only 4.4 million dollars converted to US money. Unless its wide release next week is a huge flop, it should be able to make its money back

Holy hell, I didn't know this movie was 2:28:00 long. It certainly doesn't feel like it. There's a lot of crazy ass sequences.. the car chase is fucking insane. And the story is interesting enough to hold your interest when there's no action.

I'm glad I waited for one of my best friends to find out if she wanted to join me to see this early.
At first I was going to drive to Berkeley or San Francisco, which are about 30-40 minutes away. Found out that a theater about 10 minutes from where I live is screening this tomorrow.
Picked up a Matinee ticket. I can't wait!

I can see why Gareth had to cut that gang war scene.

Down to 75% on RT. Most complaints being that the story is a bit convoluted and that the violence is "too much."

I ended up watching an unrated version that clocked in two minutes longer for a full 2.5 hours. The final fight itself was like 10 mins. Felt like an iron man match. Most of the fights sequences were at least as long which is probably what contributed to the running time length.
