Lux Ęterna (2019)
While the 51-minute film isn't Director/Writer Gaspar Noe at his most aggressive, it remains interesting throughout due to performances from Beatrice Dalle & Charlotte Gainsbourg. |
Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
Project Wolf Hunting (2022)
It won't be the deepest film you'll watch this year but might be one of the goriest. It's Con Air (1997) meets Resident Evil (2002) deep fried in a vat of blood. |
Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
Cocaine Bear (2023)
While the gore is fun & plentiful, when the CGI bear is not on-screen, the film is less entertaining. More bear please. |
Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
Phenomena - the 116 minute cut. An Argento weirdie that I keep coming back to every couple years, though I don't know why.

Raiders of the Lost Ark - this movie never gets old

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
The Accident Man - entertaining old-school style action movie starring Scott Adkins. Gonna watch the sequel soon.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
House of Darkness - horror flick starring Justin Long and Kate Bosworth, directed by Neil LaBute. It's okay. Bosworth is good and Long does his usual shtick. Ultimately, though, it just felt like an extended episode of Tales from the Crypt.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
Wrath of Man - crime thriller starring Jason Statham and directed by Guy Ritchie. Pretty good, I thought--not as good as Ritchie's The Gentlemen, but certainly better than the likes of his King Arthur movie. And better than Statham's typical output of late.

I own this I don't know why it took me 7 years to open it or just waiting for the right day and weather. Maybe even better the second time. Excellent supporting cast with Tom Hardy, Domnhall Gleeson, and Will Poulter. Maybe the bear was mad DiCaprio does not date girlfriends over 25. Why did he have to take off all of his clothes to sleep in that horse carcass? |

Unrated version on Peacock I wonder what was in the unrated edition that was not on the standard edition? It was alright but wonder in 5 years if this movie will hold up or feel guilty for enjoying it when there was not a lot of other good options to watch. It is cool Allison Williams is Brian Williams daughter but she is a mediocre actress. |

The Marksman
Meh. Nothing special. Not horrible, not great. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...ac8f92f617.png |

There's Always Tomorrow. On the Criterion Channel
https://i0.wp.com/www.briansdriveint...anbennett3.jpg Douglas Sirk was great at getting under the skin of the "American Dream" and it's on full display here. I don't normally like Barbara Stanwyck but she's sympathetic here. I always see Fred MacMurray as the dad in My Three Sons and this is a good riff on that. |

I rented it on Amazon Prime It said it was $0 for a UHD rental probably since I bought some blu-rays in the past. I liked it though was expecting to love it. |

Showtime It was pretty good. The guy that played the Muslim brother who was a big Cubs fan in the Big Sick played the lead. |

Do Not Disturb (1965)

Showtime It still holds up and one of the more interesting movie ideas to film the characters as they age in real time over the years and decades. It seemed the boy aged more than the girl who stayed the same. The Ethan Hawke character though he was not always present seemed like a cool dad and one I would want to emulate but not marry a bible thumper. It lost to the Birdman for best picture in 2015 though it was one of the tougher years to win best picture competing with Whiplash, The Theory of Everything, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Imitation Game. |

MGM + It was different and I was surprised I liked it and you can't wrong with Elba and Tilda Swinton. A different kind of love story? |
