This past Saturday I watched Everything Everywhere All At Once in Imax.

Today I watched my 88 Films blu ray import of Species III on my brand new region free blu ray player and the film looked great. Also, this film had a lot of nudity, which I had not seen before because my previous exposure to this movie and the one after was from airings on the Syfy channel, so it was nice to see this uncut. Also watched the extras.

Death on the Nile - Took two sittings; my wife fell asleep about half way through. Would have been much better if they shaved off 20-30 minutes of the pre-boat story but I'm not familiar with the book or how it was paced. Love me a good period Private Eye murder mystery but this was only OK. I don't see myself watching it again even with the amazing visuals.

HBO

I bet a lot of people wished this could happen in real life

It was ok disposable entertainment for 1 night but nothing great.

Another typical average mediocre Cage action flick

Starz

A good cast wasted

The Sarah Michelle Gellar story was the weakest and Andy Garcia likes to yell a lot in this movie.

Starz

Maybe a typical sports drama but it looked like Michael Shannon mailed it in or did not care since his acting was kind of questionable in this?

Amazon Prime or free if you try the YouTube search engine

It is not Anchorman but a nice time killer on a Wednesday night.

Wrongfully Accused (1998) — I've seen this one before, likely either in theaters or on DVD in the late 90s. This is just another poorly made spoof movies to come out of the era and even with Leslie Nielsen in the lead and one of the men behind The Naked Gun series and Hot Shots (Pat Proft) writing (and directing), a lot of the jokes fall flat. I chuckled a couple of times here and there but otherwise found this a chore to sit through even with its short running time. **/***** (Blu-ray)

Death Wish II (1982) — Not great and really uncomfortable to watch (as was the first film, but this one takes it up a level in the assault) but seeing Charles Bronson exacting revenge was good and he's in his element as Kersey. Not as good as the first but still "entertaining" (for the lack of a better word), if not a bit hokey at times late with Kersey getting lucky for the number of people covering for him. ***/***** (4K UHD)

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Absolutely loved the visual fingerprints that Sam Raimi slathered onto this film, in addition to the choice in villain.

Didn't care for the plot though.

The Northman (2022)

Beautifully shot with just enough of Director/Writer Robert Eggers' general weirdness to make the film a little more than a Viking Revenge film.

Wonderful performances from the entire cast.

I own this

I liked the scenes with the father and the son the best.

If you have not seen this I recommend it.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch. It could have been a good movie with some rewrites. The setup was creepy, the payoff kind of dumb. I liked how the urbane aristocratic villain applauded the hero who foiled his plan. (Tubi)

Uncharted (2022) — Good adventure-thriller in the vein of Tomb Raider. Visual effects for the most part were decent and liked seeing Tom Holland in a lead role other than Spider-Man (where he excels) and he's good here. Now this is coming from someone who has never played the game but I thought as video adaptations go, it was fairly entertaining though nothing exceptional. ***½/***** (Blu-ray)
