Drug War - 5/5

A drug dealer facing the death penalty becomes a police informant in order to have his sentence reversed.
An intense crime film that is part Heat, part French Connection and part Hard Boiled.

Paranormal Activity 2 - 1.5/5

Prequel/sequel to Paranormal Activity that reveals the events that occurred before and after the original. As with most prequels/sequels, they try to give you more of the backstory by milking the cash cow. And the more films they crank out the sillier the story gets. I should have learned from The Matrix that I am not a fan of films franchises. Why did I even bother watching this?

Be With Me - 2/5

Inspired by the life of a woman who overcame hardships while being deaf & blind. Tells the story of three people in Singapore who yearn to be loved. Half documentary and half fiction the film can't make up it's mind what it wants to be and moves at the pace of a snail.

Grown Ups 2 - 0/5
--Seriously one of the worst "comedies" I've ever been forced to sit through. Unbelievable it made as much money as it did.
The Heat (Unrated) - 3/5
--Not much to say but it was entertaining, and I was surprised given I don't care for either of the leads
The Internship (Unrated) - 1.5/5
--If you've seen Vince Vaughn in any other movie then you've seen this
Machete Kills - 2/5
--Underwhelming is an understatement. Flawed on every level and not remotely the fun of the first.
Mad Dog and Glory - 3/5
--Can't believe I never saw it before. Great cast.
Man of Steel - 2.5/5
--Didn't hate it, didn't love it. Saw the problems others were complaining about. I'd like to see a DC.

Ran - 5/5

Akira Kurosawa's amazing retelling of William Shakespeare's "King Lear'' set in feudal Japan. His final masterpiece.

Kagemusha - 4.5/5

In feudal Japan the life of a thief is spared because of his resemblance to a powerful warlord. In return for his life being spared he will work for the warlord as his double. Excellent late era Kurosawa that studies the nature of identity and power.

Let Him Have It - 3.5/5

Based on the true story of Derek Bentley, a mentally challenged epileptic who at 19 was executed for a crime he did not commit.
Good film that is critical of the British justice system.

Hangover III. Not nearly as bad as many made it out to be. It would have been impossible to do another like the first two. I can see for those that are tired of the Chow character they wouldn't like it. I liked black Doug in the first one, this one he was a douchebag.
