I usually agree with JefftheAlpaca and in this one I completely agree with him. That movie is THAT BAD. Avoid it. Please.

Apocalypse Now: Final Cut (1979/2019) — Last time I saw Apocalypse Now was the Redux version some time ago so going into the Final Cut, not sure of the big differences, but still thought it was brilliant. While, at least from memory, it's not as significant of a change compared with something like the final cut of Blade Runner, this is still a great movie with amazing performances. The only slight downside, I felt the sequence with the French wasn't great and came across as preachy or on the nose with the Vietnam War, although it's not like other parts weren't exactly subtle... 4.75/5

I saw Angel has Fallen on Thursday and Ready or Not on Saturday.

Both were enjoyable times at the movies.

It was not horrible but not great either

It looks good visually though maybe the story is not that compelling.

Do I detect sarcasm at Hollywood remaking great foreign films instead of pushing for proper distribution of said films and investing in marketing so Americans (and not just 3 New York intellectuals) will actually go and see them and thus learn that their is a world and art outside the US?
Or is it just my own personal critical sense of Hollywood that got in the way of your casual review?
That said, at least Nolan's reamke was quite well done even if it didn't bring anything new to the story. What are your thoughts on the two versions?

Maybe if you are a fan or big lover of country music you will like this.

If Ethan Hawke was not directing I probably would have passed. Really long and boring.

Richard Linklater had a small role maybe as a favor since they did so many movies together. Sam Rockwell was hilarious in the two scenes he showed up for in the movie.

Alien Opponent (2010)

Stupîd low-budget massacre film with dark humour but not much else worth a look.
An alien crash lands in a junkyard and the widow of local kingpin who just killed her husband tries to make as if the creature killed her husband so she can get the insurance money. She asks whoever wants a try - against reward- to go in the junkyard and bring back her hubby's body. All the local thrash go in and have a try and all die bloodily.

The Thousand Faces of Dunjia (2017)

Tsui Hark-produced fantasy film with the usual orgy of CGI and the humourous fight between good and evil. Enjoyable if you're into that kind of stuff.

The Running Man (1987)

I know some like this but I didn't when I first saw it in the glorious 80s nor did it improve with age. There are way better dystopian scifi movies out there.

In a bleak future an ex-cop who was framed because he refused a cruel order from his boss from 'the corporation' must participate in a reality-tv game where contestants try to survive attacks from showy killers in an arena.

Nannerl, la soeur de Mozart (2010)

As Sly Stone used to sing: "It's a family affair"! The father wrote, directed and acted. The mother produced with her husband, their two children play leads and some member of the family wrote some of the music. It's quite an interesting story about Mozart's sister who was a talented harpsichord and violin player and showed promise as a composer but was overshadowed by their father's love and belief in Wolfgang Amadeus. Her affair with the married crown prince who would soon to king didn't help her career one bit either. Nice little intimate film that would have been a terrific thing with more money and bigger talents. But very enjoyable nonetheless.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) — Honestly don't remember much about 2014's Godzilla, only that I didn't care that much for it. Five years later and we get a sequel that I don't think many were yearning for and it's more of the same. There were some moments of greatness, especially towards the end, otherwise this was rather forgettable. Lots of destruction and I can imagine the hundreds (if not more) who worked on this just on the visual effects side but I can't imagine revisiting this any time soon and only will remember upon the release of Godzilla vs. Kong next year. 2.5/5

Mayday (2019) — Fantasy-thriller has its good bad moments, alongside terrible dialogue/acting and poor, unflattering lighting for the ladies, but I had a good laugh here and there. The story had a ring of some rejected Stephen King short story... 2.75/5

I did not do a blind buy for this after the mistake I made in 2014

It was ok for its time but I assume it is kind of cheesy now and the acting is horrible

Rambo (a.k.a. John Rambo a.k.a. Rambo: The Fight Continues) (2008) — Kick-ass action all around and although the story is on the basic side and has minimal character development for Rambo himself, just a bloody, albeit too much of it CGI'd, entertaining especially an action-fest finale. Amazing, especially being the fourth entry into the series. 4.25/5

One of Chris Hemworths early roles in 2010 before he blew up as Thor

It was kind of a dark comedy and Victoria Profeta was not bad to look at

Watched 'Fuzz' (1972) last night.

Man, that Raquel Welch was way hot, wasn't she?

And she still looks pretty good in her 70's! That's really, really rare.

The wonders of butox!
I still salivate (metaphorically) every time I watch One Million Years BC by Hammer.
