If you were/are a fan of hers, this is a good watch.

Still dead?

Skyscraper (2018)

I'll watch anything with Dwayne Johnson in it.

The script isn't the best but there are some fun set-pieces in it.

Unfriended: Dark Web (2018)

I enjoyed the first film but didn't enjoy this one as much.

The thematic change was appreciated but as the scope of it got larger, oddly enough, I became less engaged in the film.

XX - 3.5/5

Four macabre tales written and directed by women, in which the central characters are also women. The stories vary in quality, but overall I found it to be a good film.

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018) at the drive-in with the wife and kid. I have managed to avoid watching the first two films in this series, which I assume are just as terrible. This film rivals Shrek for dated jokes and even more dated musical selections. The "Macarena" dance number was the point at which I ran a hose from the exhaust pipe to the front seat and started the car.

Someone's Watching Me! (1978) — Plodding Hitchcock-inspired TV movie from John Carpenter has its moments, especially with lead actress Lauren Hutton though rather uneven in spots. 3.0/5

To be fair, the movie takes place on a cruise ship doesn't it?... the one place where that's still a thing.

I've never seen an entry, no plans to start now.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Mamma Mia 2 I truly loved how the first one not only didn't take itself too seriously but flaunted the crazy singing and dance numbers. It embraced the silliness. This version had two story lines that were downers plus more lesser known ABBA songs. Lily James was great. Cher belted out a nice Fernando. You could kind of overlook the crazy ages in the first one, even though they were not logical. In this version they kind of threw the crappy timeline in your face. She graduated college in 1979 then was a none too young looking 60 in 2008. FF to 2018 and have a surgically altered and botoxed Cher trying to look 50 as Sophie's grandmother as well as being only 3 years older than Streep. I've heard of checking your common sense at the door but these folks really want you to ignore age lines on old broads.

Did you watch Mandy Lane on cable? I think it came out in 2006.

I wish I could be in the middle of a Amber Heard and Whitney Able sandwich.

Yelchin's character died too early just like him in real life.

I forgot Amanda Seyfried was in this.

I don't understand the scene with Sharon Stone in the fat suit and bad makeup. That was awful.

But is the film any good? I've seen the poster or DVD here and there a lot over time but never knew if it was worth a detour. Amanda Seyfried might make me wanna watch!

Night of the Lepus (1972)

Awful cheezy and not scary 70s film about giant rabbits attacking and eating people. Killer rabbit-wise, I prefered by far Monty Python and the Holy Grail! This was just bad.

Au bout du conte (2013)

Not very good french film by usually very good duo of Jean-Pierre Bacri and Agnès Jaoui. This time they misfired with their usual themes of estrangement, love gone wrong, life anxiety and others. A rare false note in their interesting filmography.

Maybe if you like watching a group of punks swearing non-stop and using homophobic slurs

It is based on a true story.

No wonder Shannon Elizabeth has not appeared in any movies. She can't act for shit but still looks good at 45.

I love golf so I love golf movies. I looked this up, it has a 5.7 rating in spite of only 7 reviews. 10,9,9,10,9,9,2 which averages out to 8.28. Curious as to how they arrive at 5.7?

It's on Netflix streaming.

I read the wiki page on this movie and the story of the movie's production and release is kind of interesting. It was completed and shown at film festivals in 2006, but wasn't actually released until seven years later.

I found it a little underwhelming, but I did like the grindhouse style and, yeah, the eye candy is worthwhile.

The Rover - dystopian Aussie film starring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson

I liked the atmosphere and bleak setting. Society is in severe decline, but it isn't full on 'Road Warrior' apocalypse. There's no backstory on why things are the way they are--we are simply dropped into this world. I appreciate that approach. Pearce is good, as usual, in a quietly intense role. The one thing I disliked is Pattinson in his role as a dim-witted, violence-prone, American redneck. I thought his acting was terrible.

The Rover makes me want to revisit The Bad Batch.

Someone's Watching Me (1978) — Decent early film by John Carpenter tries to mish-mash Hitchcock elements that doesn't always work, perhaps due to the constraints of being made-for-TV. Found it enjoyable for Lauren Hutton and some decent thrills. 3.0/5

Dark Crimes (2018) — I like Jim Carrey's more dramatic movies, even something like The Number 23, but this one was tough to sit through in spite of Carrey turning in a committed performance. The script was poorly written, bad pacing and just an all around dull movie that could've been pretty haunting at times (think Broadchurch or something). Shame. 2.0/5

Lionheart (1990) — Certainly cheesy and Jean-Claude Van Damm could not act (or write for that matter), but still entertaining fight movie even when certain parts make little sense (no idea why the French legion bothered to hunt him down for deserting for instance). 3.0/5
