I did just see that update in the "fake girlfriend gave me a fake script" thread, but I think I'll always picture you living in your car.

First impressions are lasting impressions. You will always be remembered as the guy who lived in his car.

Yeah, it was decided that I do a paper on Ripley (character, evolution, etc). We had to argue about it though. I was very against it cuz it seemed too predictable of a paper. And I've actually encountered several of them in my time here. And they just screamed fanboy bs as I've read them. Granted that was in the starter analysis class.

Wait, really? Wow, I hit the nail on the head right there. Someone give me a film class to teach, STAT! I've got a copy of The Room ready to show.

I've actually have KIND OF hoped a professor would show that for some reason. I don't care for the film at all and I've seen it already but...it would make a lasting impression on us w/ that a prof.

One can easily respect that.

Sadly she's more on the thin side. Not a stick but w/ some minor curves that one can respect. She rocks the look, so good on her.

That's good to hear. Now if only we'd get that goddamn full body pic up in here. haha

Why did you ask for permission to post her picture and how did you explain the circumstances

I never thought I'd miss school. Well, I don't miss the homework, the deadlines, or the pressure, but this does sound more intellectually stimulating than anything I've done in the past four years. God, I have to get my life on track somehow.

You should write something on the "Lack of female nudity in Mainstream Science Fiction". It was pretty apparent in the 80's, but pretty rare now.

Species was basically a movie for guys who were too self-conscious to rent real softcore porn and could pretend they were renting a sci-fi movie.

Alien rape.

Apparently there's a whole severely fucked-up subgenre about tentacle rape in Japan. I find the whole notion deeply disturbing.

I agree with you though. I read something about Ridley and feminism a while ago.

There's been a lot written about it. To be honest, the films are all written and directed by men, I don't really see the fact that the character is a badass ass-kicking heroine as a huge statement about feminism. Weaver gets strangled with an issue of Playboy and strips down to her underwear at the end of the first movie, it's glossy, beautiful, stylistically classy movie, but structurally, it's pretty much a slasher flick. And obviously, it's loaded with phallic imagery.

B-but it passed the Bechdel Test.
