I don't see how it could take 2 years to get a movie released in this day and age.

Marvel hasn't even started filming Guardians of Galaxy yet and that comes out in summer 2014.

yeah, you guys are used Lucas's notoriously snail-paced productions. Avengers 2 is coming earlier and there's not word on that being any farther ahead yet. We're fine there.

I don't see why not. Unlike Lucas, they're going to make this just like they would make any other movie. Besides, I really think the PT was three years between movies just because the OT took the same time. Lucas always had a hard on for making things "rhyme" like that.

If we can get this Harrison Ford in the new movie then I am first in line.

That's like the funniest Harrison has been in a quarter century. It's also his best acting in 20+ years (Mosquito Coast came out in the late '80's?).

Definitely. If they can bring that kind of spark and humor to the new one then I seriously don't care if he's 87. Crotchety old Han all of a sudden looks like a great idea.

Let them put out some new films. If they suck, then we aren't any worse off than watching the prequels. If they are good then we win. But I'm not going to complain about getting more films than we have now.

There's probably a reason for that.

Edit: didn't see the next page. You really need to see the full 8-minute improv.

I can get behind future Episodes if only to provide more fodder for Mr. Plinkett @ Red Letter Media

Overkill?

I don't get that...

How come we can readily accept 12-24 hours a year of a drama series on TV, but 2 hours a year of Star Wars is overkill?

Agreed. We waited 16 years for Episode I and 3 years for each episode after it, and look how disappointing the prequels were. I don't think more time between SW films automatically means we'll get better quality films. Besides, some of the upcoming films will be standalone movies, so if they suck they can be easily dismissed or skipped since they'll just be side stories and not part of the continuing saga. (That's what I did with the The Clone Wars movie after I saw it.)

I bet that Disney creates a new studio location that's made just to film Star Wars stuff if they want to have yearly releases.

Not to mention that the Clone Wars TV series has delivered 40 hours of Star Wars over the past 5 years, or about 8 hours of Star Wars a year.

I typed out a similar response last week but decided not to post. People are/were hyped for the live action Star Wars tv series which would be 20+ hours a year but 2 hours a year is somehow pushing it?

Looking forward to Disney© brand Star Wars® ?
... Oh, the prequels weren't so bad you say?
.... Then this must be your kid :

Here are my kids :
Spoiler:
... over here are the neighbor's kids :
Spoiler:
... and when Ep. VII rolls around, here's how they'll come for your fucking fairytale offspring:
Spoiler:

My kids are the reason ewoks had to be repopulated to Endor.

If you don't yet realize that Star Wars is an artistically bankrupt franchise then you are weak in the force.
