Eh. A lot of what I know of film is from studying it out of college. The DVD era was a great thing with the features. I LOVE film history. Wildly. I've many a book about film. I love movies but the history of the art is so goddamn fascinating.

Also, even the original design looked a lot like sunglasses from certain angles, due to the black stripe just above the eyes.
Given the other things we've seen, and the obvious affection and respect that is being shown to the original film, I am willing to give them a chance to prove this new design to me before I overreact in a knee-jerk way.

Stormtroopers started out as Old Republic soldiers. Why shouldn't the New Republic keep them? Especially if they're still clones and they can use them instead of forcing ordinary people to serve in dangerous combat situations?

To be fair, only two figureheads (three if you count Tarkin) of the Empire were slain. I doubt the Emperor and Vader were all that invested in the day-to-day running of the Empire. Whatever bean counters were in the admin building while the financial nightmare called the Death Star blew up (again) are likely the ones calling the shots now.
