Nicholson has always creeped me out. Never liked him.

Never really liked DeNiro tbh.

Disheartening to hear Raging Bull get such a trash talking. It's a great flick.

Thanks for coming to my rescue Jules.

Raging Bull is an exceptional black comedy.

At the end of the 80's critics voted it best 80's movie.

Both are icons, but my preference is Jack.

I recently saw The Postman Always Rings Twice - dark, twisted film, but Jack and Jessica Lange are amazing in it.

The same reason he won every one of his Oscars starting back in 1976.
He has friends in Hollywood that like him and vote for him.

Del Amo Mall Parking Lot. Torrance. About 1/2 mile from my house.

My friend and I got caught shoplifting a Pink Floyd 8 track tape from Mongomery Wards in almost that exact spot when we were in 10th grade.

Cuckoo's Nest, The Shining, and Chinatown almost make the decision clear in comparison to DeNiro's body of work, then Five Easy Pieces and The Last Detail clench the deal for Nicholson in my book.

What it should make clear to you is all of those Jack performances are the same.
GODFATHER 2 , TAXI DRIVER, RAGING BULL all 3 different performances by DeNiro.

Uh...motherfucking no.

Chinatown alone is loads different from The Shining.

Not going to argue about the difference in performance from De Niro, that's a fucking fact that's known. Talking about Taxi Driver...I need to see my Blu again..damn good looking bitch it was.

Also...it's De Niro...w/ a space.

Went with DeNiro. Though can't really argue with those who prefer Jack.

Robert de Niro is my favorite actor so I have to go with him. His 70s output alone is phenomenal.

His 80's is very good too.

Re: Nicholson VS DeNiro

And the nineties was good for De Niro too- Goodfellas, Awakenings, Cape Fear, Casino, Heat, Ronin, Wag the Dog, Jackie Brown...

Re: Nicholson VS DeNiro

So I guess it's safe to say, for the sake of generalities... De Niro had a great 3 decades?

dekker 11-17-12 08:16 PM

Re: Nicholson VS DeNiro

Absolutely- the last decade is where he's really stumbled IMO. The Focker movies, Showtime, Machete, Righteous Kill...he hasn't been in a great film in years.

dekker 11-17-12 08:23 PM

Re: Nicholson VS DeNiro

Jack Nicholson seems to have slowed down in terms of acting. He's only done one film in five years. But de Niro just keeps pumping them out. He has four films coming out next year!
