The actors have said the Alf set was a death trap...trap doors everywhere.
My initial reaction is why? Then why CGI? But Ted really did prove you could make a CGI puppet that looked real. I bought that Ted was "real" throughout that movie.

There are things we all LOVED when we were younger and then later on in life we realize it wasn't as enjoyable. ALF was probably the biggest disappointment I could ever have when I revisited it as an adult. I loved the show sooooo much as a kid but I rented the first season when it came out on DVD and I couldn't stomach watching a full episode.
With that said I would probably be interested in this if it wasn't CGI just because it would be nice to see the character and time period updated but it needed to be a puppet.
