Re: what happed to Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Killer'

It was pushed to March 22, 2013:

Warner Bros has tweaked released schedules for a trio of movies this year and next. year. Rock Of Ages shifts to June 15 this summer from June 1. It’s moving into WB slot vacated by Jack The Giant Killer which moved to March 22, 2013 from June 15, 2012. Arthur & Lancelot is now undated from previously slated March 15, 2013.

I guess I'll be the first to answer the question. It was pushed to March 22, 2013.

Re: what happed to Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Killer'

Finally, pushing Jack the Giant Killer to 2013 opens up that June 15 2012 release date, and the musical Rock of Ages has been pushed back two weeks to take a more prime summer position.
HAH! and in hindsight this died a quick merciless death at the box office.

Well at least this has a damn date available.
Remember the big anouncement of Del Toro's Haunted Mansion 3-D reboot a few Comic-Cons back?

I believe it got pushed to March. The 22nd I believe. In the year 2013 AD. Not 2013 BC.

Saw the trailer today and wasn't quite sure what to think. Seemed like it wants to be an LOTR-like fantasy and a Princess Bride-like comedy at the same time.

Now called Jack the Giant-Slayer.

I've been seeing the TV spot quite a lot and haven't been particularly impressed at all.

Looks they moved it to March to ride on the coattails of that Hansel and Gretel movie.

What was the last successful movie based on an old fairy tale? The Passion of the Christ?

I think he was just trying to get his religion joke in there and failed miserably.
