What was the last successful movie based on an old fairy tale? The Passion of the Christ?

oh and the release date is now March 1st (as if no one could denote this from the myriad tv commercials).

I wasn't aware that Snow White and the Huntsman was a hit. I think there was also a Red Riding Hood movie, too, wasn't there?
At any rate, between all of these movies and Grimm and Once Upon a Time, I think Bill Willingham and Mark Buckingham got kind of screwed.

Yeah. I think Gary Oldman was in it and it was directed by the director of Twlight. The wolf was a werewolf, as far as I recall from the reviews.Originally Posted by Josh-da-man

Red Riding Hood though wasn't a big success hit. Snow White made $400m worldwide (nothing on Alice in Wonderland's $1.02b, but impressive no less)Originally Posted by Josh-da-man
