I loved it when I was a kid and I still love it now.

Alright...pictures of my Beetlejuice wedding. Only 10 in this set, but once I go through the 300 pictures and pick some good ones, I will add more. Video will come in a day or two (probably).

Which leads me to "Batman Returns". The movie is fine, except for the painfully silly Penguin (and that whole circus thing). The tipping point was him controlling the Bat-mobile in the little coin operated car.
The whole Catwoman thing was fine.

It's a good film. I like it as much now as I ever did. It's not great IMHO. Some really nice performances and ridiculously creative work by all around. A tad too eccentric for it's own good. I do think it kicks the living hell out of the first Burton "Batman", which I have never cared for. And I think the least of it's problems was Keaton. I've always found Burton's second try at the franchise to be wildly better.

I find that most Burton stuff really hasn't held up that well to be honest. I think I just sort of grew out of his style. I tried watching Beetlejuice not too long ago on Starz and it didn't capture me the same way it used to. Parts of it are still funny but a lot I just found kind of stupid.
The same can be said for his Batman films. I used to love Batman and Batman Returns and can barely take watching them anymore. Batman Returns is slightly better than Batman but I'd much prefer Batman: The Animated Series or the Nolan Batman films these days. Even the Adam West Batman holds up better for me.
I think the best movie Burton has done was the one time where he stepped slightly out of his element and tried something different with Big Fish.

Re: Does Beetlejuice still hold up?
I saw Beetlejuice at a movie theater last night. Growing up I ranked it high on my list of favorite comedies. Now I consider it mediocre. The flamboyant redecorater and wife that moves in were annoying. Winona Ryder was okay. The one that steals the show is of course Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice. It looked like he had a blast playing that character. My favorite part was the scene when the dinner party are forced into song and dance number
so Keaton's character was the best part in an otherwise boring film. What did you guys think about the movie?
