This was almost as worse of a choice than when New Line previewed Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Republican National Convention.
Oh, and fucking T.A. Edison

- Didn't know much about or even knew the film was in production
- Saw the trailer on TV - was intrigued
- Tracked it down online... lots of Sean Bean action shots, but his name isn't even legible on the poster
- Concluded that Bean's character will die early in the film.

Look at Sherlock Fucking Holmes deducing that Sean Bean will die in a movie.

Warners foolishly previewed this at Sundance:

Look, I'll go to my grave defending Speed Racer and stating its one of the most underrated films of our time. I just don't think Sundance is the best place to debut a $175M "blockbuster." Especially one that was scheduled to be out seven months ago.
I use blockbuster in quotes as I think both this and Seventh Son (which is also getting an IMAX release on the same day ) are going to tank. The Wachowskis haven't had a hit since The Matrix Trilogy and I am still surprised Warner gives them blank checks to do whatever (I get that Cloud Atlas was financed outside of the studio system, but Warner took care of advertising and distribution just to keep the family at Warner).
Hey, remember when Seventh Son was supposed to be released on February 15, 2013?

I probably won't see it at the movies but will at home.
Looks really interesting but so did Cloud Atlas. hmm

So it opens this week. What do you think? Another bomb for the Wachowskis?

I think it looks good. I'll see it. Probably this weekend.
Who knows if it'll profit. Ungrounded sci-fi is always risky. When it goes too far out there, people can't connect.

Currently at 30% on rottentomatoes, looking like it might be as bad as it looks.
