Are you sure about this I remember in an interview Raimi said he was done after three but the studio were pursing him to do a fourth which he wasn't really interested in doing.

Also, I David Fincher would make a good Batman director.

It was a pretty big deal when Sony fired them all, publicly.

As a cost saving measure, I can see any of these guys as an older Batman with maybe 3 films and the JL movie.

Jeffrey Donovan
Karl Urban
Guy Pierce

I like Jeffrey Donovan but he's not right for Bruce/Batman at all. Same with Karl Urban. I think Guy Pearce could be decent in the role but he's kind of old and hasn't really had a starring role in quite some time so I don't know how good of a shot he'd have.

Make a sequel to THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO in which Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) moves from Sweden to Gotham City and becomes Batgirl.

I'm not entirely convinced this is the last Nolan/Bale Batman film. If WB throws enough money at them -- everyone has their price.

Highly, highly doubtful that Nolan would ever come back for another.

I'll agree that's highly doubtful. Maybe they could get Bale for the right $$$, but I'm sure he'd still pass since Nolan will be out. WB can't even dangle a funded vanity project as a tit-for-tat since any other studio would be happy to snatch Nolan up without provisions.

Re: Who would you like to see play Batman next?

Tom Hardy should play the next Batman and Bale should play Scarecrow with Cillian Murphy as the Riddler, Liam Neeson as Two Face and Michael Jai White as Bane.

All in one movie.

Give Armie Hammer a crack at it, finally.

I'd like to see no one play Batman next. Seriously. Just give the franchise another 8-10 years off and see where things are at. No one is going to top Nolan's films and at this point I'm not interested in seeing a "lighter" Batman movie again.

Too much of a cash cow for Warner to wait. As someone suggested, I think hiring somebody like David Fincher could be good but not a stark 180 degree change in tone.

Zach Galifianakis and then spike the series for good.

Right. The Dark Knight should have been the last one. No one is going to top The Joker. It's all a bore.

Hmm. Sarcasm detector went haywire. I personally think TDKR can be just as good as TDK. I think the story deserves a final chapter in Nolan's hands. After that well, it's going to be hard to like anyone else's vision. I can still enjoy the Burton stuff because it predates Nolan's films, but for this is THE Batman series I always wanted.

P.S. I never read nor do I care about the comics.

Re: Who would you like to see play Batman next?

I don't care about changing actors/directors/stories as long as the core is there. Happens in comics all the time.

There's a difference between Frank Miller Batman and Jim Aparo Batman and Norm Breyfogle Batman. And I'd accept any one of those because they were done well.

Personally I would rather not have Fincher direct, I think his talents would be much better used elsewhere. Batman is too much of a cash cow for studios right now but I would like them to wait 5-10 years. Yeah its probably not going to happen. I guess we will see with the new spider-man how well a comic book reboot does.

If anything I hope they do something like batman beyond where we wont have to watch the same story over and over.

Seriously? I hated the 50's Batman with all the Sci-fi shit and going to other planets. Now, if you meant the 40's Batman that would be actually work. He could go after gangsters with Hugo Strange as the main villain. They could do the "Monster Men" mini series as the basis for the story.

That's too few characters. He should also be Alfred, Gordon, the Penguin, the Riddler, Two-Face (so he can play a white man and a black man simulataneously), and Poison Ivy.

Where would his talents be better used? Directing remakes (i.e. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo)? I would like to see his style applied to at least one Batman movie and, like Nolan, could get a couple of his own projects off the ground if successful. I don't quite understand when people use the "director using their talents elsewhere" argument.

As for Batman Beyond, I agree, that would be interesting to see.

Edited to note that I am looking forward to Fincher's take on TGWTDT, so it's not a putdown on him.

I was thinking that when Se7en was first released. The footchase in the theatre and the rain looked like something Neal Adams (Batman artist) would have drawn. It reminded me so much of his artistic style and thought Fincher could translate Adam's Batman into a movie.
