This shit isn't so much for you as it is to capture the hearts and minds of a new generation who are coming into a world of laughing at fart jokes.

I'll probably catch this on cable tv or something. But I can see the appeal of making this film. As those who are on this level of comedy and just discovered it on video on demand or red box can jump right in.

But that's it. Wasn't happy with the gross-out gag with the old lady at the end. If I wanted a Seth McFarlane movie I'd watch one.

But it is a Farrelly Brothers movie, and gross out gags are one of their biggest traits. Not sure where Seth MacFarlane comes into play on that.

I think it looks pretty good. While I have no delusions that it'll be better than the original and it seems to aiming for more "cartoony" than the first (the 20 year prank and the dust both seem more over the top than anything in the first one) I still think there's enough in the trailer to like. The gag where they're talking to each other on the cell phones seems right in line with the humor from the original.

I LOVED Dumb Dumber as it is one of my favorite comedies of alltime. But I have no faith in this movie for several reasons. Most comedy sequels have a few good jokes they usually show in the trailer, but everything else is recycled from the original. The Farrelly Brothers haven't done a good comedy in years, and Jim Carrey (who was at his peak in 1994 with Ace, The Mask and Dumb & Dumber) hasn't been funny in years either.

I won't be fooled as I will wait for this one on HBO.

the original had Lloyd pissing in a beer bottle & giving it to an officer to drink, the ex lax gag, and the lighting a fart on fire, so its not like the first movie didn't have its share of gross out gags

Meh. I think I liked the first one. I can't remember. I always liked the dog car though. The pee gag for that was funny for me.

I loved the original and it's still one of my top 5 all time favorite comedies. The new trailer looks funny as hell to me, actually. I'll see it in the theater and am really looking forward to it!

Don't forget the whole bathroom scene. The ones saying stuff looks too cartoonish or forced again don't realize how completely lowbrow the first one was in 1994 before now it's regarded as this classic. This is merely pushing the boundaries.

There's a difference between lowbrow and cartoonish. The thing about the first one was that in addition to the low brow humor it was fairly grounded. A prank that lasts 20 years and gathering actual dust from an old woman's vagina are cartoonish. A fine line perhaps, but there's a difference.

However, like I said a few posts back, I still think it looks funny.

It's going for an NC-17 rating. They are really going to push the envelope with this one. The dust scene was the prelude to an orgy.
