No worries sir, I apologize for my brusque tone.

Just had a nasty reminder of why we don't run cult movies more often. Just had to kick five people out for drinking.

Giles, the Sony deal wasn't exclusive, thankfully. I have a Christie on the largest non-IMAX screen because the Sony's throw is pretty poor. Even in the smaller houses, however, I find the light output from the Sony is inferior to the 35mm next door.

Not to knock Sony's output completely. I'm sure they look fine in people's houses.
ouch.

I've seen improperly set Sony systems, but thankfully the AMC (Mazza) I frequent tends to get it right - the brightness and colours are impeccable.

You bring up some good points, but I don't get how the industry thinks or even is trying to push 4K, if these flaws are a deterrent - 4K might be negligible on smaller screens but 4K on the ultra large screens improve luminance and provides smoother less pixilated picture that is lacking in 2K projection
