You really don't watch a lot do you? Or...maybe those are just your 2 favorites? Favorites don't necessarily have to mean the best.
-------------------------
No particular order...these are my favorite 5 from the past 5 years:
District 9
Red Cliff
Pan's Labyrinth
Inglorious Basterds
Moon

1. Let The Right One In
2. Night At The Museum
3. Health Inspector
4. Trailer Park Boys The Movie
5. Changeling
I would have said District 9, but it sucks hard. Nothing original and a complete boring, snore inducing rip off from beginning to end. I was SO wanting to like it, but it was just stupid. You didn't care about any of the characters so you couldn't give less of a crap what they were fighting for. Same with Watchmen.
Now, if we were doing the worst movies of the last 5 years, I could give you a list long enough to reach from here to the moon.

1. Goodbye Solo
2. The Secret in Their Eyes
3. Frozen River
4. Gone Baby Gone
5. Animal Kingdom
I usually dislike my own list shortly after making it, but those are the first five to come to mind.

I have been very critical of District 9 and would put it right up near or at the top of the list of the most overrated films of 2009. That being said, I would never have described it the way you just did. It wasn't remotely boring or "snore inducing."

Funny... nobody seems to be mentioning "The King's Speech", "The Hurt Locker", or "Slumdog Millionaire".
I thought the first two of those were reasonable, but that last one... the Hollywood PC Consortium falling all over themselves to praise a brown movie, never mind how unbelievably insulting and borderline racist it was...

Great choices. I loved Never Let Me Go. I think it's criminally underrated.

I have not seen The King's Speech.
Now as for Slumdog Millionaire, IMO that is just one giant cliche ridden piece of crap.

The Dark Knight is number 1, no question. After that, I've got Superbad, The Hangover, Toy Story 3 and probably HTTYD.

I actually love bad movies more and they tend to have more replay value. On my list of "best of" movies, i've never seen any of them more than once.
