Okay, so where were the Chronicles of Riddick fans when that fucking movie came out? To this day I still here people trash it. Now that it's gone back to a more horror film aesthetic you people want it to have that more sci-fi'ish edge to it? Make up your damn minds.

It seems the trailer confirms that Karl Urban is just a cameo at the beginning, given there's not even a frame of him in it.
I hope things were brightened for the trailer and will be darker in the actual movie because it all looks really cheap. The first flick was also very cheap but it looked slick.
I was also in the minority that liked Chronicles but the character of Riddick in that movie was far removed from the one in Pitch Black. Same name and same actor but a very different character. He was almost a nice guy in Chronicles compared to how he was in Pitch Black. This Riddick seems totally different as well with his almost jokey nature.
Oh and Katee Sackhoff sucks. I hope she dies early and dies ugly.

I praised Chronicles back in the day. It was one of the first HD discs I got (HD DVD), and I watched it on repeat for a while. It's a solid sci-fi actioner.

Yeah, I was a fan since day one of Chronicles. My only gripe was that Riddick himself was practically a different character. He went from a bad(der) guy in Pitch Black to a more "relatable" antihero in The Chronicles of Riddick.

Damn looks like a reboot of Pitch Black.
I always pictured Riddick being a king god and leading his necromonger crew...then they turn on him...but not another pitch black world with monsters in the dark.

I really don't know. He was a pretty severe alcoholic. He frequently urinated on furniture and passed out in bushes after pissing himself. He once tried to play a slice of pizza in a DVD player. He once tackled his TV to the ground. That should explain a few things.
