i have the same interest but looks like she'll probably just bookend the movie. BD Howard is the one we'll get most of in the park.

"Depends."
"On what?"
"On what kind of dinosaur they cooked up in that lab."

Woof.

But I love JP (and pretty much all movies in that mold) so I'll be there opening day.

It oddly reminded me of Alien.
With that, looks great. Still, you wonder how many times it takes to learn to not to mix dinosaurs with amusement parks.

seriously. "first ever genetically modified hybrid". we're afraid of genetically modified food for fcks sake and now you're gonna do it to a dinosaur? sounds safe

I love the park filled with people - ripe for destruction.

Looks great. I love the first one, disliked the second for the most part (the trailer sequence is good) and thought the 3rd was a nice return to form. Looks like this one combines another good thing about the second one (dinosaurs in crowds of people) with being on an island - I'm in!

I liked how they integrated the main theme song into the trailer.

Definitely the worst part of the trailer, for me.

I like Chris Pratt, but his attempt to look serious by scrunching his face isn't working for me

My sentiments exactly. Looking forward to this next summer.

Looks great Loved the slow piano theme. Loved the line "The Park is Open." It's still a little hard for me to take Chris Pratt completely seriously and expect him to be goofy, but that's minor.

It looks like he's playing a rugged, big game expert character like Muldoon from the original.

Re: Jurassic World (2015, Trevorrow) S: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard

I always hated the idea of the genetically-modified dinosaur soldiers when they were supposed to be humanoid lizard men with guns but (admittedly based on a single shot) I have to say I'm not totally opposed to Chris Pratt having a crew of friendly raptor sidekicks. As I wrote that I realized how ridiculous it is, but still.

As for the genetically-modified big bad dino (that is probably the white T-rex spoiled by the leaked LEGO) they've already resorted to made-up dinos in JPIII with the winged dinosaur. They've also always been fairly liberal with how the supposedly-genuine dinosaurs are portrayed, with the raptors being much larger and the dilophosaur having the venom and neck frill thing completely created for the movie.

Messing around with genetics is true to the source material too and outside of the first three movies it was the first place any writer ever goes with JP. I know it didn't take long for the toy lines to start messing around with hybrid dinos between movies and I'm sure half the comics and kids books do it too. I know there was an aborted animated series that used genetic hybrids as its core concept.

Liked the trailer a whole lot! Even if it's just for a few moments, I liked that we are finally getting a film with more than a handful of people at the park.

Re: Jurassic World (2015, Trevorrow) S: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard

I know he had a ton of help, but it does look mighty impressive for a "first time big budget" director that only had 1 other feature under his belt.

I'm curious to know what his pitch was since the writing and directing is practically all him and his co-writer from Safety Not Guaranteed.

Them: "Hey, we just made this $750,000 budgeted movie, we have an idea for Jurassic Park"
???
Studio: "Here's $150m, make it happen!"

Me too, but I don't think it's going to happen. I think shit goes down, and the vast majority get evacuated, and only a few dozen are left to deal with the dinos.

I'd like to see some shooting of the dinos. I don't think a single one has ever been shot which is ridiculous.

I'm fucking sold. Makes me wish that park was real. Especially the water show. Of course it had to be Bruce that was fed right? And I loved that last shot of Pratt on the motorcycle with Velociraptors around him.

Hard to shoot something when all you have are walkie-talkies.

Wasn't there shooting of Dinos in that one w/ Pete Postlethwaite? I just remember he was badass in it. I honestly don't even remember which one that was. 2, right? I.. shit. Wtf was 3 about? I don't remember that one at all.

Jezus...this movie looks awful. You guys will rave about anything. There's nothing original or fresh I saw in it - other than the fact that there's a lot more people around to be eaten.

Looks like that crazy rumor about Chris Pratt's character 'training" raptors to use against the bigger, genetically created dino are true. That stuff risks being fall-out-of-your seat laughable...it could sink the whole film.

I had a similiar reaction. I liked the beginning of it (The "World" being on display looked good) but once that chick starting talking about a genetically-modified beast on the loose, all I saw was a "SyFy Original Movie" from there on out.

Pete was about to shoot the T-Rex, but Malcolm(?) took the bullets out. Plus, when the raptors are attacking the groups, the armed-members can be seeing shooting their guns straight in the air while screaming and running away from the raptors. Seriously.

In Part 3, gunfire was heard offscreen, but it appeared that all the gunmen were just terrible shots.

There's been issues with guns in the JP movies all the way through. You can go back to the first one and see the bulletholes that Grant fired:
Spoiler:

They look liked they were fired by a .22, not a shotgun.
