Re: Contagion (Dir: Soderbergh) - Sept 9, 2011

I liked this movie, some of the dialog wasn't great but the overall movie worked pretty well.

It did occasionally feel like a trailer for a longer movie but I actually appreciated the pacing, gave it a sense of urgency. Basically just a movie showing how different people might react in a situation like this with the disease tying the threads together.

I saw this last night and really liked it. My only issue is agreement with the previously mentioned scope of the film. It's hard to get a sense that there was such a huge death toll, but I understand this wasn't some giant big budget blockbuster.

I dont' know how accurate the science and all that was, but one thing I really liked was that it at least felt authentic.

Re: Contagion (Dir: Soderbergh) - Sept 9, 2011

Saw this earlier and enjoyed it but it didn't have much of impact. The performances were good but I agree with "RedSwingline" that a couple of the characters really didn't add to the story. Also, as others have said, the scope was too limited so it felt smaller and thus the threat never felt real. Having said that, I still think it's an effective enough movie with the performances (a couple great moments with Damon's character) and as expected from Soderbergh, the style is great.

It was okay. I was expecting better.

If a Vulcan filmed a movie, it would be like this.

Great, great cast. Good acting all the way around.

I thought the music was terrible though.

Just saw it on XBOX live and we liked it. I still don't get what the Blog dude was doing; and now that I think about it Kate Winslett's character coulda been played by a lesser known actress.

Ah, got it. Thanks. I guess I got confused as he was switching sides.

And not Paltrow's character?

Really, Winslet's was one of the best performances in the film.

Enjoyed the movie, but didn't think it was great or as good as it could have been.

The movie was competent but boring. It played like made for tv.

Just rented this one. I wanted to see it at the movies, but didn't get a chance.

Wonderful cast. Great story. May have to be an eventual purchase.

Finally saw this. I really loved it. VERY good looking movie and pacing was pretty good. That cast was amazing. Didn't even know some of them were in here.

They should re-title this movie "Coronavirus" and re-release it to theaters.

Gwenyth Paltrow being the cause of all of it still makes me laugh.
