This may sound weird but whatever...as we know....The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is coming out this year, the Fincher adaptation. Christopher Plummer is in it...which makes me happy..cuz...he's a damn fine actor.

Which led me to think..well...what other old actors are still getting solid work in? Work that is recognizable and not just anyone you could put in. Something that needed that actor in some form or another. I don't know when an actor is "old" but you know what I mean..they've been around a while and still get good roles...Soooo...I kept thinking...off the top of my head?

In the space of about a year when I was in late Junior High or early High School, I was first introduced to all of them by these movies: THE GRADUATE (Hoffman), BONNIE AND CLYDE (Beatty), BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (Fonda and Redford), and EASY RIDER (Peter Fonda and Nicholson).

There's gotta be many more.

There must be a bunch guest-starring on TV, but I wouldn't know since I never watch TV shows.

Hal Holbrook, incredible actor. Barry Corbin is a lesser known actor, but shows up all the time, usually in southern base roles.

Just saw him on Attack of the Show or some other G4 thing, and he definitely looks it. My gf was a big X-files fan and somewhat paid attention to Millenium, but when she saw him, she goes "Who the hell is that old guy?"

I was about to end this post with a snarky "And does he even still work?" line, but then I checked out his IMDB page and he's doing like 8-10 things a year. Sure, some of them are voicework, and many are DTV, but it's still impressive

Yeah, Shatner looks about the same he did in the late 80s. A bit chubbier but still looking younger.
