Come on people...Michael Caine! As far as quality roles and fine acting he's one of the best.

Jack is still my fav though.

^ I was aware it was in the first post, but I didn't see anyone else mention him, hence my "come on people".

I also really like Tom Wilkinson and Jim Broadbent.

Oh. Well, in that case I'd also like to throw my 2 cents in and mention Michael Caine, Tom Wilkinson and Jim Broadbent!

Diane Keaton and Susan Sarandon still work at a good clip. Both are nearing 65.

I can't believe noone has mentioned Stallone yet...64 and still crankin' out hits. One of the best comebacks of the millenium...Rocky, Rambo, Expendables! Whether you like these movies or not, it's still success and the numbers don't lie.

The most impressive has to be Ernest Borgnine.

The guy is NINETY-FOUR for cryin' out loud, and he's STILL acting and doing voice work! And he's doing a good job, too! I had no idea that he was in Red, but there he was!

The irony of this is that he looked old when he was in The Wild Bunch back in 1969, and I don't think anyone back then would have ever thought he'd still be acting in 2011!

Mermaid Man may end up outliving Spongebob. You never know...

Or maybe he injects himself with cobra venom.

(Bill Haast just died at age 100. He injected himself with the venom to build immunity - perhaps to more than just snakebites.)

Re: Old actors that still get solid work

I hear Arnold Schwarzeneggers' coming back, after he cleans house that is. I'm not sure if he has anything lined up, but I have no doubt he'll have no trouble finding work.

On top of that he really had to take it upon himself to put those projects together, it's not like the studios were calling. They are now... with Headshot and Exp2. Great to see him take the initiative and finish strong.

Yeah, Stallone was dead in the water as far as Hollywood was concerned, and then he did Rocky Balboa and Rambo through sheer will and got The Expendables off the ground and now he's back in business.

I really enjoyed all of those movies. He's only got a couple years left in the tank as an action star, but he's making the most of them.

Re: Old actors that still get solid work

^
Is he back in business?

I guess if you consider doing a voice in 'Zookeeper' back in business then he is, but that movie looks like it was made for the mentally ill, so I wouldn't exactly say that is the kind of part he needs to keep lifting him out of the movie grave.

I will hold off anointing him with the rebirth award just yet. If he actually did something good, then maybe we can talk. He needs to prove himself in the acting category. Simply making stupid, over the top action movies is one thing, pulling off a good performance in something worth a damn, that's another story.

I've never had much hope in Stallone but you never know. Some actors meander around and in their later years pull off some great performances. I'm just not so sure about this guy.

Peter O'Toole by far. That man is tireless.
