I am trying to compile a list of all the 80s slasher flicks out there. I found this list at another site (that I cannot link to because I don't have enough posts, but it was on the horrordvds forums), and was wondering how accurate it was. All these are filed under "slashers" in my collection, though a few might simply be classified as thrillers or even cannibal films (Texas Chainsaw) depending on your criteria. There are ghost/supernatural elements to a few of them (The Forest/Don't Go Near the Park) that might disqualify them from this list, but I'd still classify them as slashers.

The film contains some brutal murders, but Cruising isn't a slasher/ horror film.

Child's Play goes down as the biggest omission so far, but I still can't believe we forgot Chopping Mall and Prom Night II as well.

I have NOT included Cruising, but am open to suggestion. It doesn't look like a horror movie from what I can tell, but again, I can be persuaded differently.

Thanks a lot for these. DRG's idea about DVD/BR availability is a great one. Unfortunately I do not have time to check all of these right now, but maybe I can get started on this over my upcoming break. Would you suggest I just C+P the title into Amazon and see what's available? Is there a better way to do it?
