I ordered 6 from them and it took him about 2 weeks to ship because he was away at the North by Northeast show. Came well packaged. Just give him a call, the guys owns the business and answers right away. We chatted for some time.

They look great regardless of the price. I found some 12x24 frames for about $13 locally, and they had about 5 different finishes to choose from.

Art to Frames through Amazon also has some 12x24 frames for $12.22 a piece, not sure what shipping charges are though.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

Does anyone know if anyone has made any custom DVD covers from these posters? I'd really like to have a "Kill Bill" cover I could print out based on Stout's poster art. (I checked on r1db and didn't see any.)

Do you think these actually sell out so quickly or do they hold some prints back? It's just weird, I've never seen anything on the internet sell out so fast and I've seen some crazy good deals.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

I hope they make a lot of money selling VHS tapes of obscure horror films. I am not interested in ponying up any cash up though.

The store is undergoing a Planet Of The Apes transformation. They have a Go Ape movie poster up. Masks, a piece of art on canvas, a bloody Lawgiver statue. AND Mike Saputo made some Lawgiver candles. I don't know what you call them, but they are the type that usually have saints and religious figures on the glass. You see them in Mexican grocery stores a lot. Anyway I picked up two.

Makes me wonder if there is going to be an Apes poster for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes or even for the screening of all 5 of the original films later this month.

^I'm digging that poster as well. The movie is ~40 years old and I've never seen it either. But have heard about it being fan of Ray Harryhausen.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

Poster cabaret has a treasure trove of Alamo Drafthouse prints right now, but unfortantely for me the ones I like are simply too rich for my blood (the Dollar Trilogy ones are so tempting though).

Doyle's Die Hard is available for $50, not too bad considering it debuted around $30 I believe.

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

My Tyler Stout Kill Bill poster is FINALLY ready for pickup at Mondo South Lamar. Gonna pick it up tonight and throw it in a frame. Pictures forthcoming. Anyone else with the regular version should be shipping out today.

I'll update y'all of what's in the store inventory as well after I get back (probably going to see Thor as well)

Did you get the Tweet last night about them restocking the flat file? I was at Central Market and zipped over there . . . well, so I thought. Eight people beat me there. No Kill Bills or I would have been pretty sad. They did have 2 Steamboat Willies (gone when I arrived), a 2-3 Nightmare on Elm Streets and Screams, and a couple of the latest Star Treks. No purchases for me.

Congrats on the Kill Bill! Can't wait to see pics.

Unfortunately I was working the PM shift last night (or I would've picked up the KB yesterday!).

Would've loved to SBW for my girlfriend. Not heartbroken though. I'm like... officially out of wall space. Anything that isn't completely awesome is just going to end up in my flat file till we get a bigger place.

Well not so much out of wall space in that my gf will kill me if I fill any more walls with Mondo or one-sheet posters. She's gotta have some space for her girly art. heh.

While I'm out I'll also swing by Austin Comics... surely they'll have the Tim Doyle '2001' print there. I love his reasoning for having a small gallery there ... when I asked him at Flatstock ("Uh, why do they have your posters in Austin Comics? That's random" "It's a good deal... they give me the money for the prints they sell... then I give them back the money for comic books").

EDIT: I love the NOES print... but I already have this one on the wall:

It's a level of nerdiness that exists for sure. Niche Niche... only heard of it here and in Seattle/Portland really (Scarecrow Video in Seattle is their mecca supposedly). I'd say the pinnacle of elitist video collectors.

BTW, has anyone gotten a shipping notice on their Kill Bill regular version poster? Still waiting for the email to show up for in-store pickup myself.
Pretty cool...I'm just not a horror fan and it seems like most of the rare VHS stuff is horror. I've grabbed some titles I've wanted on VHS if they aren't available on DVD though.

Every now and then I even can flip a rare VHS title for enough to cover the cost of importing it on DVD. (Did it w/the Italian film 1860). So, I while my comment was tongue in cheek anyway, I definitely will bite on a VHS of a title I want and can't import on dvd. I have a feeling though that the VHS series will be only horror given the larger market for it.

They had some as of last week. Picked it up. Looking for the Mystery Tube in the mail today. Maybe it will have the variant.
