I'll give it to the marketing for The Dark Knight Rises, WB hid most of the major plot points from the trailers and promos. Since Superman is less of a marketable commodity these days, I imagine they are taking no chances. It's why I stopped watching trailers for it after the second one.

From this and the TV spots where Superman is shown flying away from Jor-El, it's almost as if Jor-El is trapped in a space station. Or perhaps he's in Kandor or trapped in the Phantom Zone like Peter O'Toole in Supergirl.

I'm thinking it might be something of a hallucination or maybe Superman visits the Kryptonian version of Purgatory (hence the skulls) and encounters Jor-El. My guess is that Zod and co. could very well kick Superman's ass in their first encounter,

Considering the first trailer was so... lacking, these commercials are not being shy showing the action. I'm at the point where I'm this close to being at the point where I'm so excited about the movie, there's no way it can live up to my expectations.

That and well it's not associated with one of the best films of all time that is also directed by its director as well. Prometheus had a fuckin mountain to climb and it failed in its narrative.
