Step Up 3D remains to be the best 'looking' 3D movie period up to this point.

I hope Chu is back on board and Step Up 4Ever is more similar in tone to 3D rather than the first two.

I think I have to agree with you Matthew, better you than me stating it.

Chu knew how to frame the dancers and objects in relation to one another - he also understood that 3D is best when the action is slowed down or almost freeze framed - fast motion simply does not translate well for a 3-dimensional look.

Chu knew how to film it period. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, every frame in the film looks spectacular. When I saw it (I'm going to get shit for this) a third time theatrically, I really got to focus on the cinematography and there's astounding depth of field to each scene that is captured. The background had as much detail as the foreground did and as someone who majored in film and took a class in cinematography, that's impressive.

I happened to be watching Madonna's Hung Up on youtube and noticed that the best dancer (the character called Kid Darkness) from Step Up 3 was in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDwb9jOVRtU

And then he's in tons of other clips and videos too:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/igcsNG4aruA?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/igcsNG4aruA?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Daniel Cloud Campos should become a huge star.
