I had the pleasure of seeing "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" in a theater tonight. Sorry to everyone who got stuck seeing this.

Thought it was OK but all the best stuff is in the trailer. Certainly not as good as most of Todd Phillips previous stuff. Video review in the link at the bottom.

While there are some good comedy bits which made me and my audience howl, the script isn't that good, and it gets off to a rocky start, much like the unlikely pairing of the characters played by RDJr. and Galafinakis, but it does find this weird absurdist streak about 2/3 into the film which carries it to the end. It's worth no more than a matinee viewing.
I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.

Enjoyed this a good bit, it wasn't great but it was pretty much constantly funny, save for the crying scenes.

The wife and I caught this one this morning. This one's very guilty of showing all the funniest bits in the trailer. Only one that really took me by surprise was
.
We enjoyed it, but it's definitely not that we were crazy about.

She looks just like this gal.
Maybe someone with more skills can post them side by side.

Saw this last night with my girlfriend.
She loved it, I thought it was pretty uneven. Most of the funny parts are shown in the trailer. I liked Robert Downey Jr. in this and at many points in the film he saved it from being a 100% train wreck.
The problem with the film is it's pacing is sort of sloppy. Also when the film is funny it's pretty funny but when it's not it feels completely forced and awkward.
Jamie Foxx is also completely unnecessary in this film.
I'd probably give it a borderline B-/C

I thought it was HILARIOUS! Your enjoyment will depend on how much you like Galifinaikis's brand of comedy...which I happen to love.

I live in vegas and hated the hangover. The first third of the movie I thought it was the same old shit Zac as hangover and was grumbling through it. Then it totally turned some sort of corner and I fucking loved it.

Seen this tonight and Thought it was alright, some really funny parts thought Zach Galifanakis was great and had some great moments, My main issue was with Robert Downey Jr.'s character. He was just unlikeable pretty much throughout most of the movie. Especially when he spit in the dogs face. Overall some funny moments, but Downeys character I think hurts the movie. You didnt care for him or his wife. Therefore you really didnt care if he made it home in time. Roadtrip flicks need characters that you like to spend time with and this is what this movie lacked. Had lots of funny moments but lacked likable or memorable characters
